Often the pin is soldered in three places to the motherboard. The repairs aren't that hard to do yourself if you are careful. Check some of the replacement pin suppliers on google and see if one for your computer is available.

If you decide to do the repairs yourself I suggest using a digital camera to document your dis-assembly process. The picture will make it easier when you go to re-assemble the system. When you get it finished, to make sure it doesn't happen again, get a CRD (Cable Retention Device) like this company sells. It takes the strain of the power pin.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Break it off..........

In order to take the Base Enclosure (Bottom Cover) off, you would have to break it off.

The Acer Aspire 5000 series of Notebook PC's, disassembles from the Top down. When you are done you are looking at an empty Base Enclosure,

You have to;
Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.
Remove the Harddrive Compartment Cover, Harddrive, Memory Compartment Cover, Ram Memory, Wireless Module, Wireless Antenna wires out of laptop body, Optical Disk Drive, (DVD drive), Display Assembly, (LCD Module), Keyboard Cover, Keyboard, Palm Rest Cover, Motherboard, and so on..........

Then you have the Base Enclosure. (Bottom Cover)

WEAR an ESD wrist strap, and have it's alligator clip attached to a good ground source.

Acer Aspire 5000 series of Notebook PC > Service Manual (Free),

Go to the paragraph that starts with Aspire 1200. (1200 in Blue)
Drop down to the 6th line (4920G), scroll across; and click on the blue -> 5000

How do i replace the cooling fan on my acer aspire 9303?

The Acer Aspire 9303, is part of the Acer Aspire 9300 series of Notebook PC's.

I have good news, and not so good news.

Good news:
This is a link to free Service Manual,

Drop down to the 'paragraph' that starts with Aspire 1200. (1200 in Blue)
Go down to the 13th line (8390Q), scroll across, left-click on 9300.

[ Ignore the following if you are aware;
This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the file name (9300), it may take up to 30 seconds to download.

After the file has downloaded, bring your mouse to the bottom of the page.
The 'ghosted out' Navigation bar will appear.
Go all the way to the right, and click on the Adobe PDF icon.
(Looks like a three pointed 'star' ]

Start on Page 69. (PDF file page number at top)
Direct information for removing the Fan Assembly, is on Page 78.

Not so good news:

The Display Assembly has to be removed, and the laptop disassembled down to the motherboard removed, to access removing the Fan Assembly.

1) Remove ALL Power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.
2) Advise use an ESD wrist strap, and connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source.

Average cost is around $3 to $6. Cheap insurance, so you do not Static shock, the delicate hardware components inside your computer.
Do not wear one, and have it connected to a good ground source, and you can use the laptop for a doorstop.

3) Use a multi-compartment container, for the various screws you will remove. Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.

SOME screws look VERY similar to other screws. Advise Do Not mix them up.

4) If this is your first time, make a record as you disassemble. Make notes, and drawings, and/or use a digital, or video camera. Use good lighting, and make legible notes.

Nice to have a Service Manual, but even nicer to have your own personal record to refer back to, in case you are interrupted.

Exploded diagrams of acer5553

Exploded diagrams?

This means to me you may wish to have the Service Manual.
Has Disassembly, and assembly guide in it.

This is for the Acer Aspire 5554, which I believe you'll find will work for the 5553,

Go to the 'paragraph' that starts with Aspire 1200. (1200 in blue)
Go down to the line that starts with - 5332. (7th line down )
Scroll over, and left-click on - 5554

Disregard if you are aware;
This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.

After you click on the file name, (5554), it may take up to 30 seconds, before the first page comes up.

Doesn't use the same Intel technology that the 5554 does.
It does not support Intel Core i processors.
It does not have an Intel HM55 motherboard chipset.

Case, and disassembly looks the same.

Disassembly guide for the Acer Aspire 5534, also looks the same,

Copper contact pads you short out to rest the BIOS password?
Ummmm, no. No info.

If what I have given is not what you seek, simply state in a Comment, as to what it is you do seek.

How do I turn on the wireless in the notebook acer aspire 3000

Look on the front edge of the laptop, you will see what appears to be two clear looking buttons, the button to the left of the audio jacks is your wireless switch, the button to the left of that is your bluetooth switch. Below is the link to the user manual for that laptop, you will find this info on page 2 of the Acer Tour Chapter.

There's only one place you connect the microphone, and that would be the "red" jack on the front of the unit. The unit however should have a internal microphone as far as i can recall...
