Question about Memorex MMP8565 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Won't show files

My mmp8565 connects to computer but when I view the folder it shows (2) icons that say "file" but ** music. It was working fine for awhile then it started doing this. I checked on a computer with Windows 2000 and it worked fine. I have always used XP, but when I updated one day it ***** worked again. Could it be one of the XP updates that is doing this?

you have to go to memorexelectronics.com and go to support, you need to upload the firmware for this model. Follow the instructions and it will reinstall the firmware onto the mp3. Mine now works fine, it took about 10 min to solve the problem.

go to memorexelectronics.com and then to support. You need to upload the current firmware for model MMP8568. I downloaded the firmware program and followed the instructions, it fixed all the problems I was having with the mp3 player. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, it may get a little tricky if you are not somewhat computer literate.

I still haven't figured out what happened when it froze, but I solved the other problem... I just switched the options to "show hidden icons" for some reason those four folders were shown as hidden.

Adding Music To My Sansa e250

I never use Windows Media to add music to my sansa... If you want all music to show up click on my computer and then click on the icon for your sansa. there may be a folder that says music but if not it is a hidden folder. if this is so you must go to tools, then folder options, and then the tab that says view. under this will be an option that says hidden files and folders and click show hiden fles and folders and OK. this should allow you to see the music folder. from here on you can just copy and paste all files.

How to upload files from MP3 player to computer

Hi. To upload files from your E260 to your computer, you can do the following: Step 1: Browse the player on your Windows Explorer. Under "Windows Explorer", your player should appear as an icon under "Portable Audio Devices" or as a "Removable Drive" with a corresponding drive letter. This really depends on the mode your player is in -- MTP or MSC mode. Step 2: Set your Windows Explorer to "Show Hidden Files or Folders". The folder containing your music files on the player is a hidden folder, so make sure you go to "Tools" menu on your Explorer window, then select "Folder Options", then select the "View" tab, then enable the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" radio button Step 3: If your player is set to MTP, you would find the sub folder called "PPI NAND". Open this folder and you would see a list of sub-folders, one of which is labeled "Music". Open that and you would see your music files If your player is set to MSC, open the drive letter corresponding to your E260 and you see a list of folders, one of which is labeled "Music". Open that and you would see your music files. Step 4: Select the music files you want and copy them to your local hard drive I hope the info helps.
