My ps3 is not working all of a sudden I was playing call of duty 2 online and then all of a sudden there was 2 beeps and my ps3 turned off by itself and will not turn back on please help

Hopefully this will help solve your problem:
1. Press and hold down the power button located at the front of the PS3 console, until you hear a first beep, then eventually a second – before the console shuts down, then let go of the button;
2. Now press and hold the button again until you hear a first beep, then a second beep then eventually a quick double-beep, then let go of the button;
3. The TV screen should now display a six option menu, where you can select what’s required, i.e. `Restart System`, `Restore System` etc. `Reset System` should only be used after other attempts with the other options, as your game saved data may be lost. If you play Modern Warfare 2 online, then this won’t be affected as your data is saved on the Sony Server.
4. During any of the above actions, your best having your handset controller connected to the PS3 via the USB cord, which includes pressing the `P` button when required (located between `Start` and `Select`).
These actions should help solve `freeze` problems and others such as update errors etc – which restrict you starting up or playing your console.

You have YLOD you have to open and strip the ps3 down to motherboard then either reball the GPU/CPU (this method requires experience with circuit boards) or reflow the the solder around the chipsets using a heat gun, if you feel you can do the later I will give you more detailed instructions if you want.

try this:
it works for slimline PS2. might work for PS3.
1) turn off PS3
2) unplug PS3 and wait a minute or two before plugging back in.
3) turn on PS3

hope this helps.

it could also be overheating.

Through a connection in the internet
( or faulty parts whatever sony wants to tell you) playing that game ruined your Ps3 sometimes it can even be a game that you have been playing for months weeks even and something will just set it off your best bet is to find a repairman or to send it to sony and PRAY you still have a warranty (this happened to me only but 2 days ago)

i guess it's a problem with your Hard Disk . please try the following :

• re-updating your system by an USB device (download the update from sony ps3 website)
  
• reinstalling all game data files
• restoring your system (don't forget to backup all your important files such as game saves !!)

it has probalbly died

1-turn off game console..............2-disconnect router for 20 seconds then reconnect............3-turn on game console..............4-go to setting click on network setting.................5-go to internet connection and press X and disable the connection wait 10 seconds and renable the connection and cod4 should work fine on line.............................

NEVER EVER TURN YOUR SYSTEM OF WHEN YOU ARE PLAYING ONLINE AND THE GAME FREEZES!!!...

Just try to wait for 30 - 50 sec.
If that does not work than EJECT THE DISC AND THAN TURN OF THE SYSTEM, It has nothing to do with your PS3, Check your connection status and reset all your internet settings BUT NOT THE SYSTEM ITSELF.

If this still doesnt work than there's something wrong with the disc.

2.40 and 2.41 are bugged firmwares, id say return to sony asnd get another ps3. alot of ppls ps3's crashed cause of theres firmwarws.
