Question about Mag Innovision LT982s 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Mag Innovision LT982s screen problem

When the screen is turned on, there is a dim screen picture for a split second before it goes black. The power light is still on the the screen is blank. What could be causing this?

Hi,

Based on your post/description, I will initially suspect the inverter and/or the CCF Lamps since as you posted "dim screen picture" indicating that there is ** backlight(s) and/or it is **t receiving power from the inverter.

If the unit is relatively new and under warranty, it may be to your advantage to have it replaced or seek the services of their Service Center. Should you want to do a DIY, it would be required that you be familiar with electronic circuitry and components, use of a DVM and a soldering iron and access to a service manual or at least a schematic diagram.

Incidentally, there are k**wn cases where similar issues could be resolved if you try lowering your display properties (resolution and refresh rates) but that would also include the powerlight changing colors.

LT982s - 2 monitors 2 problems


With the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button, click anywhere on your computer's "wallpaper".
Click Properties.
Click Desktop.
Click Identify and watch both screens.
One should display a large '1' and the other a large '2'.
Click 'Extend my Windows Desktop onto this screen".
Again, click Identify.

White screen at startup

The white screen is caused by the power supply board not providing the correct voltages to the display driver board. Check our web site at: www.ccl-la.com We have repair guides for many LCD monitors and there is a guide that will work for your LT982 monitor. Monitor only power's on NO sound and No Picture


check your cable to speaker of your monitor and to the audio output of your pc.

Getting message: "VGA mode not support"


Shut the computer off, hold the power button for five seconds.

Once it's off, turn it back on and tap the F8 button until you see a black and white safe mode menu. Use your arrow key to select Last Known Good Configuration and then press enter.

This should get you back to your previous settings.

If it doesn't work simply comment back here and let me know how far you got.

I have the same problem with a customer's monitor (LT716S); it turned out to be damaged power supply board. As I understand it, MAG has a 3 year warranty on parts, will probably charge you a flat labor fee plus shipping. If you do not have your purchase documentation for warranty, dump it and replace. If you can, then you may wish to have it repaired.

My customer replaced theirs; I am trying to purchase replacement parts to repair...good luck.

try testing it in another outlet a known good outlet if it powers on then your outlets bad if it doesnt means a bad cord or bad monitor

Hi,

Often the plug of the power cord and its mate, the jack in the monitor, would have to conform with the region/country of its intended use. Having said this, then it is possible that your particular version is meant for another country but is likewise sold in your country. A picture of the monitor's connector would help narrowing the selection and possible source/supplier. Pls post if able.

Alternately, you could try viewing the different types here, here or here to get the specific part number or model of the AC cord.

Incidentally, most electronics shops/stores sell a variety of power cords, perhaps a visual check would further assist you.

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.


Beautiful screen, lasts about for a few minutes, goes black. Power button still green. If I turn it off, and then back on, it works again for a while. Any ideas?
