How to format my 2g dv mmc memory card because when i try to format it a message will display saying windows can't continue to format?

Your new 4GB card is an SDHC card. The S700 works with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

Try to read your memory card with your computer, use memory card reader, if problem same. it's say mmc corrupted, need to format also, that mean your memory card damage already.

you may try * # 7370# push yes button your problem is solve

The lever on your card might be turned the wrong way. Pls. readjust and try again.

The card might not be supported:
You camera Memory card support : SD/MMC up to 1 Gigabyte

Dear the card adaptor which you are using on the side of adaptor there is a side lock please check it may be it is lock that's why u r not able to transfer data.

use ur phone setting and make the primary memory aur mmc then transfer all ur data to. ur msg are on sim not on phoone. u have to save them 1st.

when i attach the card reader with system and when i store the software or any thing in memory card then msg show that(cannot copy because write protected error)

this cam will work up to 2gb sd/mmc

what's the capacity of your card? if it's above that, it's really not gonna work with this cam

if your card is 2gb or lower
2 possibilities:
defective card - please try another card
camera memory reading problem - arrange repairs with kodak

i cannot actually get what is the problem here but if you trying to ask how to format the mmc you can use a card reader that has an MMC slot. this can be displayed automatically on your windows explorer. right click and choose format to format the MMC.

(You may have noticed a "Memory Card Needs Formatting" message when you inserted the card.) CAUTION: Formatting deletes all pictures and videos, including those that are protected. Removing a card during formatting may damage the card. To format the SD/MMC memory card or the internal memory of the camera: Transfer images to the computer before formatting the memory card. Press the camera Menu button. Highlight SETUP MENU, and then press the OK button. Highlight FORMAT, and then press the OK button. Highlight an option - MEMORY CARD (deletes everything on the card), CANCEL (exits without formatting), or INTERNAL MEMORY (deletes everything in internal memory). Press the OK button. Highlight Continue, and then press the OK button. Wait until formatting is finished before removing the card. When formatting is complete, the SETUP MENU is displayed. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.
