I also have a backpack without a power supply. In my area I have 110 power service. However, I need to know what the backpack requires. There is likely a transformer and the voltage reduced to 6, 9, 12, 18 volts or some other number. Also, I need to know the polarity.
I may be able to use an alternate power supply with variable settings. I don't want to burn it up by using the wrong settings.
If anyone has one, this information should be stamped into the transformer part of the cord.

You should be able to get a cord at any "big box" store - Lowes, Best Buy, etc. Take a picture of the computer where the cord plugs in and take it with you to the store. Tell the clerk you need a power cord to fit this recepticle and show the picture. These are common cords for computers and other devices. Let us know how you fair.
you need to look in the front or the back of your user manual. there should be a contact phone or website that you can get in touch with. give them your model number and they will be able to sell you the replacement cord and pedal.
They usually use pretty standard audio cords, you can probably just get a replacement at your local Radio Shack. The only one I would be worried about is if you lost the power cord....if that's the case you need to be sure if you buy a different one that the voltage is the same as required.
Can you tell if your AC power cord is working? (Is there a light on the computer that comes on when it's charging?) If the power pack went dead, your battery could've died and now you get no power to the PC which is why it won't boot up.
To test, take out the battery and plug the AC cord in and try to boot up. If nothing at all happens without the battery, then your power cord or power pack is dead, and you just need to replace it.
First does your bantam, have an adapter for 110,120.or 220 volts? Second is it three or two pringed? Third does your bantam have a battery? Fourth do you travel to europ a lot? Or asia, and have you used your bantam on battery power before? If so does your owner's manuel specifie the configuration of its usage ?
With power cord connected no add on ram just the basic system ram the laptop should post if it's not she's dead could be mother board CPU not ram the system will beep code you if ram. I sorry to say that it sounds like your laptop died. try taking out the add on ram use your power cord that will tell you right there. was it working before you replaced the ram?
If you don't have any indicators working, you have probably lost your power supply. With no picture and no sound the chances are you have either lost the power supply or blown a fuse. If you remove the cover and look at the circuit board there is a fuse located near the rear of the chassis near where the power cord connects to the chassis. If the fuse is blown, it is advisable to replace your damaged power cord before replacing the fuse. The cord could have a short and this could create a fire. Be very careful when working on any television. Be sure it is unplugged for more than one day to allow the high voltage to decay from the picture tube. Do not touch the picture tube, it still may have some residual voltage and could shock you. If you replace the cord and fuse and still have the same problem, you will probably find that the high voltage transistor is bad and needs to be replaced.
The main issue is there is a problem with the battery pack.. when the power is down your laptop become to hang. can you boot up without plug in the ac adapter? Try using a replacement battery pack of the same type....
