Question about Motorola HT1000, MTS2000, MTX8000/9000 Compatible 2 Way Radio Battery Eliminator
I'm trying to program my HT1000 radios. Nobody mentioned this whole RSS thing when I first bought them, now I'm trying to figure out how to program them myself.
I understand Motorola apparently has the RSS software, but I can't find it anywhere, and probably couldn't buy it if I could. I saw a posting once that someone had changed the configuration in their radio using a Hexidecimal Editor. What do you think - is this possible?
To program this radios you need the RSS, RIB box, and the programming cable.
The Hex Editor is used to modify the RSS for some specific functions beyond the programming.
The RSS you need is the RVN4098 try to search in the web.

For cable information visit http://www.batlabs.com as for the software you have to buy a subscription from Motorola or find a dealer that will program the radios for you. These are your only two choices. Motorola keeps a very tight track of thier software and firmware. Each software package that a Motorola dealer recieves is traceable back to the dealer should they ever make copies and distribute it out, and you won't find a dealer that is willing to give out that software because it could mean the end of thier Motorola dealership

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service
