There are usually many possible problems.
Sounds like you have low resources.
Not enough RAM
Or your processor is having problems.
Depending on your OS, and or programs you are using.
Freezing is a sign of a need to upgrade.
Your pc is likely slow.
If this is not the issue, then you should provide more info.

I don't think it has anything to do with the power supply. Everything is still running when the computer freezes up.
In retrospect I might have to concur with your conclusion Jose. Of course if suspecting the power supply, the logical conclusion would be to test the power cable voltages with a multimeter, Or power supply tester, Or using a known to be good power supply for a test unit, before rushing out to buy a replacement. I have found that a power supply with a weak voltage power rail, will cause sporadic instances of no response, sometimes. A hardware issue that mimics software issues. Eventually the power supply fails, and the computer doesn't come on at all. Thank you Jose, I appreciate your response. If you get time, how about posting the results of your findings?
Power Supply has a weak voltage power rail, and the power supply is on it's way out. One day the computer won't come on at all.
