Put on a "OEM" belt - will try it on monday - repair people say that this cleaner will not work on "after market" belts

Glad my car does not have this stupid FLAT pully system for the belts,- no groves, no guides. I would never make it out of the driveway!!!

    Design flaw (In my opinion)

Tomorrow is cleaning day - let's see how the OEM belt works - if it comes off - to the shop it goes- a 1 hour drive!

(Flat belt - flat pulleys, no guides -WHAT were they thinking - ?DAH)

Nope - OEM -Hoover belt no improvment _ did about 1000 sq ft of carpet before it poped off the pulley

I have put both hoover belts and after market belts on and it just tosses them off instantly. It all started when the large pulley came off the shaft. Put it back and tightened it down. Put new hoover belts on, ran for about 5 minutes, then threw a belt. During that time, the sweeper seemed to be moving faster than ususal in self- propelled mode. Now any belt gets tossed instantly.

I have the canister windtunnel, and the belt continues to fly off. It seems like that would be an easy problem to fix or part to add, but apparently it's a common issue. I didn't expect this from a $200 vacuum.

If this is new, you have a years warranty on it, take it for repair. Did you get the right belts, the numbers are 38528035 for the flat belt and 38528034 for the V belt. Also if you are catching something like a towel or area rug in the brush roll, it will knock of the belt. Is the brush roll turning freely. If not then it needs to be replaced, does it motor sound ok? If not then there is a problem with it.

May work ok or it will keep coming off, the proper belt works better.

I have a hoover wind tunnel model# u6476-900 and I'm having trouble replacing the belt. The extra belt that came with it was belt # 38528-035 and it's smaller then the old one and I'm having a hard time...

yes it is the right belt. the easiest way to get that belt on is to put it on the motor shaft first, stretch and start at the top of the self propelled pulley and rotate til the belt tracks on. you will need to keep pressure on the belt while you rotate the pulley. make sure you install the 38528-034 first before the flat belt

Hoover wind tunnel 2 bagless vacuum not working

Place handle in low position and turn cleaner over so bottom side is up.
Remove the 4 screws in bottom plate and lift off.
Look on the left side of the agitator brush. You should see the belt there. Remove agitator brush roll and used belt.
Discard belt.
With lettering on outside of belt, slide new belt over motor pulley.
Insert agitator though belt and place belt in belt guide on agitator.
Grasp agitator firmly and fit it onto position by first sliding end opposite the belt into the rectangular slot on side of cleaner.Pull other side of agitator into place
Turn agitator making sure belt is not pinched between agitator and agitator shield.
If this does not take care of your problem, then check your filters for dirt and your entire vacuum for blockages. Both filters do come out. If you can't get a new filter right away you can gently clean the paper filter and remove a lot of dirt. (I recommend outside)! The other filter is washable.
Make sure it is well dried before replacing.
Good luck.

Hoover wind tunnel u5755-900. smoke, smell. self-propel

Can you verify the model number? However, based on your posted description, it sounds like the flat belt is either broken or fell off. to access the belts turn it over and remove the bottom plate (4 screws). the Flat belt will connect to the motor shaft in the back and the large black pulley.

Hoover Wind Tunnel V-Belt no longer turns brush

that is the correct belt what you dont see is a tension pulley that when the handle is released pushes on top of that belt giving it the tension it needs. try replacing the other belt, even if it isnt broken it could easily be stretched out ( all belts of that type should be replaced every year - even if you didnt use the machine at all ). if that doesnt work that tension pulley could be damaged you would need to take the bottom of the machine apart to fix that.

Changing belts on Hoover wind tunnel U6401

Take off the bottom plate covering the brush roll, 4 screws. There are 2 belts, if you replace both, put the V belt on 1st, then stretch the flat belt over the motor shaft, then over the bigger pulley along side the V belt.

HOW DO I REPLACE THE DRIVE BELT ON A HOOVER WIND TUNNEL SELF PROPELLED

Take the brush belt and slip it over the pull into the groove. Then take the flat belt and hook onto the motor shaft and then pull belt over pull and push it around the entire pulley. It can be difficult but after the first time it is easy. You have to push the belt up with your thumbs so the belt will wrap all the way around
