Question about Jenn-Air SVE47100 Slide-In Electric Kitchen Range

Oven light won't turn off

The oven light on my Jenn-Air SVE47100b slide-in range is on and will not turn off. We have checked the door, and it is closing properly. The light will not go off even when we push the button inside the door by hand. We have tried unplugging it, and the light comes on as soon as we plug it back it. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestions -- we just tried replacing the switch on the outside of the oven that controls the light, and that didn't work. Next we will try to replace the switch button inside the oven. In the event that doesn't work - how can we tell if the relay is stuck closed, and if it is, how do we fix it?

We have a Jenn-Air dual-fuel downdraft slide-in range. The oven light will not turn off. If we find that the relay is at fault, how do we repair it...hopefully without a service call?

Our light will not turn off either. Everything else appears to be working, the door shuts properly, etc.

The oven light won't go off if the oven is plugged in. The button that is pushed when the door closes seems to have tension but does not turn off the light.

It sounds to me like the switch that operates the light is malfunctioning. You're taking the right steps by pressing the switch by hand. Since that didn't work, either that switch is not working or there is another switch that is intended to keep the light on while the door is closed. You can look at that one too. The last thing to consider is if the light is relay controlled, the relay might be stuck closed and applying power to the light all the time.

Sounds like the oven is still hot in side. have you tried to hold down the stop/cancle button for 10 sec. to unlock it. also here is the manual. look in page 26 for some tips on how to unlock.

Jenn air s136 stove won,t self clean

You've probably already read pages 34 through 37 of the owners manual for this oven. We had this stove in the house we bought and the owner wrote in his own directions, which seem to work fine:

1. Turn knob selector to clean.
2. Turn temp knob to clean.
3. Close and lock door.
4. Push enter button and turn dial clockwise to desired time.
5. Push enter button again.

You've probably already tried this, but just in case I figured I'd pass it along.
