What do you mean by vehicle please. Are you talking about a toy, a civilian motor vehicle, an industrial truck maybe or maybe a large military type vehicle e.g. tank or tank transporter ?

2013 LS Camaro radio & a/c issues

Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S -diagnostic trouble code's , In all the module's on the vehicle ! Not just OBD2 engine code's . BCM - body control module ,radio , HVAC - heating an A/C control panel . All these thing's can have DTC'S . If no DTC are found the next step ,viewing wiring diagrams to see if these share a gound or B+ voltage supply ! Do you know what a body or chassis ground point is ? The brake pedal position sensor is an input to the BCM . The brake light's are turned on by a high side driver ( transistor ) inside the BCM . As are the turn signal's . The radio an the HVAC controls - heating an A/C are tied together . But do not share any circuit's with the BCM or the turn signals or the brake light's . The turn signals , brake light's an the BCM share a common grounding point G403 . Can't really see why using the brakes an turn signal's would cause the radio an A/C to turn off . Wouldn't be fuse's , nor the battery , more thing's wouldn't be working . Your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop an pay an hour dignostic time . Or bring it to me . If i can't find the problem in an hour i won't charge you . Do you know anything about automotive electrical systems ? Looking at wiring diagrams , using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test the electrical circuit's . Free wiring diagrams here Enter vehicle info. year make , model an engine size . Under system click on lighting ,then under subsystem click on stop lamps . Click the search button ,then the blue link's one at a time .

My aftermarket radio is not working in my 2005 Chevy equinox. Do anyone know why? It's a new radio and all of the wires are connected properly. The chimes stopped working as well. Fuse are new as well

The chimes work through the factory radio , come out driver door speaker . There is a interface module you need to hook up on GM vehicles so aftermarket radios will work . With these newer vehicles your better off taking to someone or place that does this on a daily basis . Does it start an run ? If it does i'm surprised , factory radio is also hooked to the vehicle serial data network , class 2 . Suggest you google that .

Battery positive voltage is provided to the radio from the Radio (15A) fuse in the fuse block. The radio is grounded through a braided cable case ground. The radio is enabled/disabled by Class 2 messages from the body control module (BCM). The entertainment system on this vehicle is configured with a base and uplevel system. The base and uplevel systems contain a radio, antenna, speakers, and on some vehicles an audio amplifier.

The audible warnings alert the driver of a system concern or a critical vehicle condition. The radio generates the audible warnings. The BCM receives audible warning requests via the class 2 serial data line or the controller area network (CAN) data line. If the BCM receives multiple audible warning requests, the warning with the highest priority sounds first. The following lists the audible warning priority and the pulse rate:
Fast rate chime--200 pulses per minute
Medium rate chime--150 pulses per minute
Slow rate chime--50 pulses per minute
Single chime

Radio Won't Turn On

You do realize they stopped making a pontiac some years ago

You know it is not new & no one ever does anything but drive vehicles & never work on them

You do not want to-- but know you have to spend money, even if
you do all your own work

You have to spend send some money & go for a road test with
you driving & a mechanic along with a scan tool, to look at &
collect data

I doubt the vehicle has has much in the way of any Preventative
Maintenance. Those days stopped after 1990

You have to look at all data, any codes,i could go on for an hour here

You may or may not have an ABS System trac issue, & the radio
would be weeks out for me, until I ran out of data to fix,all fluids
changed, spark plugs & filters & brake work complete

Replacing the radio may be an issue, as you know some vehicles
need radio codes,so you can't use other radios in there- unless there is a work around

I think this purchase could get expensive very quick-- IF --you really
want to go thru the entire vehicle & get all things as they should be

I'm not putting all this on you,it is just vehicles are very neglected
& require more than the lay person knows

The First thing I would do- is change- Not Flush- the trans fluid
They fail as we talk here, if you don't

Power Steering Fluid & brake fluids

I just could go on all night

I hate to see you with an 8 year old vehicle, that has all
fluids, spark plugs & such -- as it left the assy line

You need to take it an have a factory or professional scanner hooked up an have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . All the electronic's on your vehicle , control module's , communication networking etc... Is the first place to start a diagnostic procedure . A factory scanner can check for DTC'S in all the modules on the vehicle , not just OBD 2 engine code's . Your vehicle has 15 to 20 different control module's . I need a new radio, not sure which one.

Go to a scrapyard and buy a radio that comes from the same car you have, with the same steering wheel controls. The only difference will then be that the new one works. make note of any security codes and get vin# from vehicle radio was removed from so that anti-theft feature will not prevent it from working. Radio and wiring harness will not change if you obtain radio from identical vehicle.
