Well..denatured alcohol usually works. just want to keep the sudsy cleaners out, since they only make it worse. I used that on commercial counter stoves for years..works good..and use those tight swabs like from doctors offices, not the ones for ears..

Gas won't stay on when I release knob

The old stoves.........so easy to work on and gain access to all the parts, etc. On the newer stoves, you'll have to get to where the knob goes onto the gas stem, and behind it----where the stem connects to the actual gas line inside the stove.. If you can do that, fine. Then, clean the stem, especially the nozzle. Check to see if it works before putting everything back together. If that doesn't solve it, you'll have to take the nozzle off and inspect the gas line that connects to the nozzle. Clear any gunk away, and do the same with the interior of the nozzle.........then reconnect, and test. If that doesn't solve the problem, you'll have to call a tech to come out.

Oven racks

Hello bargarmar
Welcome

You said, Your Jen-Air stove's oven racks keep falling after the heats been on. This is scary and unsafe. Your gas range is only 2 years old.

This may be caused by the racks being left inside the range when using the self cleaning system. Which can cause the racks to become warped and or discolored.
If they are warped they may not sit even in the oven while baking and also move or change their shape
form the heat every time you use the warped racks in the oven.

If you leave the oven light on before you start the oven and watch the racks as they warm up with weight on them you will see if this is the case.
Then you will want to replace them.
Let me know what happens.

Jen air locked latch after cleaning

I finally got my oven to work properly by shutting off the breaker and resetting the main clock. Cured the always locked problem as well as the beep twice when self cleaning.

Have to repeat this every few months since the problem seems to come back.
