The computer in other room...is it connected via cable? if so, look at back of computer where cable is plugged in, and make sure light is on next to cable entry point in back..

do same thing on router..lights should be illuminated.

if not, then cable is suspect.

How to configure router to other computer without internet?

For a computer to connect to router there is no need for internet.
If your router is active and functional any computer in its range can be connected with wires by ethernet port or wirelessly with wireless card.
If your computer has wireless card it will recognize the Linksys router and you can connect automatically unless you have a password set for wireless security.
If you need to log on to the router and change settings first step is connect your computer to router wireless or wired then open web browser like Internet explorer or firefox. type 192.168.1.1 this will open a dialogue box for user id and password leave user id blank and type admin in password line. once you are router page you can configure settings on router.
If you need help with setting up router post the question again! good luck

My N1 Vision router recognizes my modem HUAWEI MT882 SmartAX but does not recognize the connection to my ISP. The modem light is always blinking and can not connect to the internet. What is my problem?

Routers are devices that split Internet connections so that more people can use them. Without them, a modem would have to connect to only one computer. Wireless routersmag-glass_10x10.gif allow computers to connect to the Internet without being physically tied down by the limit of wires, allowing people to enjoy Internet usage anywhere the router has reach. This article will guide you on how to reset or manipulate the settings on a router on any computer that is connected to it.
  1. Step 1 Turn on your computer. Connect to your router by clicking "Start."
    Click "Connect To."
Select "Wireless Internet Connectionmag-glass_10x10.gif" from the list. At the pop-up window, press "View Wireless Networks." Find your router on the list. Double click on it to connect to it.
  2. Step 2 Click on "Start" again.
    Press "Run."
At the Run dialog box, type "cmd." Press "OK."
This opens a command dialog prompt. Type "ipconfig /all." Press "Enter."
  3. Step 3 A list of numbers will appear. These are your currently configured IP numbers, Host computer names, etc. Look for the number labeled "Default Gateway" and write it down. The number is usually 192.168.1.1, or a slight variation of it.
  4. Step 4 Open your Internet browser. Type the number of the Default Gateway you wrote down. If prompted for a username password, the default one for all routers is:
    Username: admin
There is no default password, so leave it blank.
  5. Step 5 You will now have access to your router settings, regardless of whether you are on your main computer or not. When done, close your browser. Restart your computer.

Internet Connection Problem on One Computer

By any chance, are you trying to use something other than Windows to manage the wireless adapter? If you are, remove it.

Now, Click on Start, right click on Network highlight properties, and click on manage network connections on the Tasks menu.
Your two options will be the icons for your LAN and Wireless Network. Is it enabled and without red or yellow marks? It could be disable, it could be not connected and you can't view wireless networks because the switch is off, or it may just nut see your unsecure network (unlikely).

If the above is clear, right click on the wireless and highlight Properties and left click so it brings up the Networking tab. Highlight IPv4 and click on Properties. Make sure the Obtain dots are ticked. That should work, since you are running unsecured.
If it already is, check the red X or if it isn't click OK and close down the box.

Now, back to where your Wireless card is showing, right click it and you have Disable, Connect/Disconnect, Status, Diagnose etc.

If you're still Disconnected but not Disabled, click on Connect/Disconnect. Does it show your wireless network?

By this time, it should. If it doesn't post back. The other possibility is that you take your computer to a wireless internet cafe, McDonalds, Panera Bread, or motel with WiFi and test it there.

No Active Internet Connection

If you want to use the wireless portion of your router, you would need a wireless adapter installed on your desktop. If you are getting internet on your desktop then this means that your wired connection is fine to the router is fine. The WMP54G adapter will work with your router, however if you are not planning on connecting to the internet wirelessly through the router then there is no need to purchase the adapter. Hope that this helps you out.
