thanks for the feedback, have changed the batteries, no difference though. Will call into sony centre tomorrow to order a remote (makes sense that the remote may be the issue). Will report back once i have the new remote.

Hide the remote from the set for awhile and see if some sanity returns. If that's the case, service or replace the remote. (Check the batteries first...accordianman

If you hide the remote from the set, you'll find out rather quickly if it Was the remote. The remote cannot be "seen" by the TV for this test to work...accordianman

Bose 321 series II giving very dull sound in all inputs. Occaisionally the sound cuts and comes back with full and bright trebble, but then cuts back to original dull sound. I cant see anything the ad

Try the following:

1) Switch the unit off completely, using the powerswitch on the back of the bass box.
2) Switch the unit back on via de switch on the bass box.
3) The display should read BOSE 321 and than be dark.
4) Insert a CD and switch the unit on with the remote by selecting the CD/DVD mode.
5) When the sound is now OK, it means that you need to contact Bose to ask them for the latest software update for your unit. After updating your system. The problem will not reoccur.
6) in case the problem continues and at start-up using a CD, no improvement of sound is heard, the system should go into repair. Contact Bose in your country and ask for return instructions.

I want to control my Sony DAV-HDX576WF with my Comcast remote control and need the remote control code.

Reposting from multiple sources.
It seems like most (maybe all) Sony HTIB do not work with the Comcast Custom Remote. I've found a work around that fixes the volume control and power button though. Hope it helps you all. I have a DAVHDX275 but I think this will work for most Sony HTIB systems.

What you need to do is steal some codes from a like product and then hardcode in the changes you need to the comcast remote. Set your AUX to 21232 (a sony code for TVicon1.png/VCRs).

Then do the following:

1. While still on AUX, press and hold SETUP again until the remote blinks twice
2. Type 994
3. Press and release SETUP
4. Type 32975
5. Press and release VOL+
The remote should blink twice. That should reprogram the VOL+ to work with your Sony HT device. For each of the following function codes, follow the same steps and use the codes listed below:
Vol+ = 32975
Vol- = 31951Power = 32719Mute = 33743
Good luck. Let me know if it works.

Also, to program your remote to function volume controls while in CBL or TV mode without switching between modes to change the volume, see below. Source http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8831Quote:Locking Volume Control To TV or AUX Mode:
1. Press and hold SETUP until the Red light flashes twice, then release SETUP.
2. Enter 9 - 9 - 3 (Red light will flash twice).
3. Press and release either TV or AUX (Red light for selected device will flash twice).

YAMAHA AV receiver RX-V861 I have the message 'Vol-fix' appearing on Zone 2 and no sound. This was working fine until then

Setting the RX-V861 remote control to operate Zone 2:
  1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the [CODE SET] button RX-V861 remote control. The[TRANSMIT INDICATOR]on the remote should flash twice.
  2. Using the [NUMERICAL KEY PAD] on the remote and key in 9992, the [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] should flash.
Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control selector to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote.).
  2. Press the [SET MENU]button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the Enter button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the [SOUND MENU] option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.
NOTES: There is an option for setting the Maximum Volume and Initial Volume in the Zone Set menu.
  • Max Volume: This is an optional feature but isrecommended to prevent the accidental change in volume levels thatcould damage the speakers and receiver.
  • Initial Volume: This is also a great feature that would seamlessly start the volume level for the second or third zone at the desired level.
We do not recommend using any Speaker Selector boxes to enable more than the recommended number of speakers per terminal.
Controlling Zone 2 using the RX-V861 remote control:
  1. If the Main Zone on the receiver is on, press the [POWER BUTTON]down and while holding that button down press the [PHONO]/[**] button on the remote. The [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] will light up.
  2. You will not be able to use the following buttons on the remote: (Pressing any other button will cause the remote to exit Zone 2 mode. [POWER], [STANDBY], [VOLUME], [MUTE] and the [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons [DVD], [CD], etc.)

There are the instructions as written straight from yamaha. If you need any further assistance please let me know.
Thank you,

I have the same system and one of my dogs got to the remote. I have a philips PMDVR8/PDVR8 universal remote. I was able to get the dav-hdx265 to turn on/off and do volume up and down by using code 0200. I have not been able to get the DVD functionality to work yet, but I will post if I do.

Ok I'm being told to try a couple of different things... nobody seems to be 100% sure of the factory reset on that model.

To reset your Samsung home theater system, follow the steps below:
  1. While NO DISC message appears on the display of the home theater, hold the [STOP] button for longer than 5 seconds. INITIALIZE appears on the display and all settings will return to the default values.
  2. Press the [POWER] button, the home theater has now been reset and will power on. Note: Using the RESET function will erase all stored settings. Do not use this unless necessary.
If that fails try Service mode. But I'm confident the first solution is the correct one.

First on the remote with the unit off
try pressing (Mute 1 8 2 Power) This should kick into "Service Mode" Most samsung products use this code I use it alot. Volume up/down to navigate Mute/Menu to change settings

Remote malfunction - panasonic dvd stereo system

The remote control and main unit are factory-set to “REMOTE 1”
mode.
If your remote control affects other equipment during operation, you
can switch to operate in “REMOTE 2” mode.
To switch to “REMOTE 2” mode
1 While pressing and holding [AUX] on the main unit
Press and hold [2] until “REMOTE 2” appears on the
main unit display.
2 Press and hold [ENTER] and [2] for at least 2
seconds.
The main unit and remote control are now set to operate in
“REMOTE 2” mode.
To return to “REMOTE 1” mode
Do steps 1 and 2 above but use [1] instead of [2] for both steps.
(“REMOTE 1” appears on the main unit during step 1.)
The remote control cannot work with the main unit if their
modes are different.
“REMOTE 1” or “REMOTE 2” appears on the main unit display when
you operate the remote control.
If “REMOTE 1” appears (The main unit is in “REMOTE 1” mode.)
Press and hold [ENTER] and [1] on the remote control for at least
2 seconds.
If “REMOTE 2” appears (The main unit is in “REMOTE 2” mode.)
Press and hold [ENTER] and [2] on the remote control for at least
2 seconds.

Cannot get "Test Mode Menu" with remote

Press and hold mute and return on the player and turn the volume control clockwise, the setup menu will appear after a few seconds.Go thru the menu and do the required disc calibration.Do not mess with settings you don't understand, else you'll create more problems than you solve.Have some good single, double layer DVD ,SVCD and CD for the calibration.

Cheers,

Patrick.

Downloaded 1 CD to Bose 3 2 1. Now system is stuck in continuous rebot mode.

There seems to be some large problem with the drive, where an obstruction within the drive pops up. The solution is to return it or repair it for a new unit. I am disappointed with the Bose team on this one, let's be SURE. So your bet is to steer clear i suppose! maybe try a reciever based Sony HTIB? Thanks! Good Luck!
