I have a NetGear MR 314 router. I'm using a Dell laptop Lattitude D160 computer. I cannot pick up a signal from my router although all the lights on the router gives the appearance that eveything is working. Do you have a solution? Thank you.

you might try moving your computer closer to your router make sure your routers and your dell 1450 settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet if applicable
You need to changed the channel number of wireless router, for that you need login to netgear router.
open internet explore and type there www.routerlogin.com then press enter,it will ask you for user name and password
typed user name as "admin" and password as"password"
now click on wireless setting which is under setup
now you can change channel into 09
now try to reconnect wireless
These are some reasons why your new Hp laptop can't connect through your Netgear Router is because your Router has a security that used a password to connect to your router or the ip address of your desktop and Dell laptop is already setup to the router to work with internet.
Does the wireless light still lit on the router? You can try changing the channel on the router (1 6 or 11) ans moving the antenna. If those things did not work upgrade the firmware of the router and reset to factory default. Do not forget to save the configuration file before you reset to factory default.

Hello....sudden loss of wireless on two computers, in the same home, may indicate that a powerful source of wireless interference has just arrived (since your wireless router light is still on).
1) Does the signal improve if you move the router, or move the laptop closer to the router?
2) Have you had any success with changing the channel on your router? (Login to router > select Wireless Settings > Channel)
If you have not moved furniture yourself, or installed a device which could interfere with the signal (eg a DECT phone), it's possible a neighbour's new router may be the culprit.
Is your desktop getting an ip address from the router?
You said that you reset the router, do you mean turning it on and off or pressing the reset button?
Hi,
Looks like when you reset the router you have lost all yur configuration and back to the default factory settings.
Bridge the 5100 first.
1. In your web browser browse to »192.168.0.1 This address will be located on a yellow sticker on the bottom of your modem.
2. The first screen will ask you for your Modem Access Code. This also will be located on the same yellow sticker.
3. Select Advanced from the blue buttons on the left.
4. Click the PPP locations button.
5. The modem may ask your for the Modem Access Code again. If so type it in again and click continue.
6. Select the radio button labeled, "Bridged Mode (PPPoE is not used)"
7. Click Save Changes.
8. A "PPP Location Warning" page will come up. Click "Change PPP Location."
9. A "Restart Needed" page will come up. Click "Restart"
10. Reboot your computer and and then connect the router
11.Configure the router for PPPoE using your ISP uid/pass
12.Configure your wireless using WEP
13.Desktop : Using Dell wireless client configure the client using the same SSID ,wep as configured in the router
Laptop : follow the same as desktop
(by default dell wirelesss client takes over the wireless configuration in dell pc.to disable it and use windows wireless client..control panel ->administrative tools -> services -> enabl2 wireless zero configuration)
14.after all configuration shut the desktop, laptop, router, mdm and pwr them in seg..first modem and then router and then your desktop or laptop
