I solved the problem. The last few times I used the CD printer, I was on my iBookG4. It used the printer menu that is the default menu for the program. Today I was using my Intel iMacG4 and tried a different angle. I changed the Box that said CD/DVD to print settings. There you click on the Media box and select CD/DVD. Interesting that both machines have been upgraded to Leopard but process the print information so differently. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Hp deskjet 550c trying to print from network But I am on windows 7. Printer is on xp. Can't find driver or fix to run printer on network

Use my published guide to install the latest drivers for all computers on the network. It is entitled
How to Install the latest drivers for Hewlett Packard Printer!!!
The drivers need to be installed on all computers in the network.

Then once the drivers are installed all you need to do is to navigate to the Windows control panel and double click printers and faxes on the computer that the printer is connected to.
Now right click the your printer and select the option Sharing, this will allow you to share the printer on the network.

Click the lower circle to share the printer.

Then when you print from another computer on the network, be sure to select this shared printer as the printer to print to, or set this shared printer as the default printer by right clicking the printer and selecting the option to set as default printer.

Please be sure to rate this session.

Take care!

How do I setup a wireless printer (hp 6310) into window 7

After installing the product on a network, you turn the computer off and then on, and the product loses functionality. The product no longer prints and the product icon disappears from the Devices and Printers menu in Windows 7.
HP created a software update to resolve this issue. Follow these steps to download and run this update.
1) Click this link, Windows 7 Critical Update to enhance reliability of network connection .
2) Click Download . A window opens with options to run or save the file. Click Run . Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.

If the printer is not installed on network, then download the full software package from HP.com or Click here and select your operating system and then download the software.
After the software is downloaded, run and install it. Follow the on screen instruction to do a network installation.
Note: You must have a wirless router for the wireless connection of printer with PC. Aslo, goto printer menu and run the wireless setup wizard on the printer.

Shrey

Can i set up my photosmart c5280 printer to print wirelessly from multiple computers via my router

Yes, you can. The easiest (and most secure) way to do this is to share it through a computer that is always on as the printer's host. Actually, looking at the specifications of the C5280, it is your only option. On the host computer (the one directly connected to the printer), click
(On Vista) Start > Control Panel > Printers
Right-click on the printer you wish to share, then left click on Sharing ... and click the checkmark box for "Share This Printer As" and give the printer a name. If this option is grayed out, click the shielded button Sharing Options and enable printer sharing.
On each of the computers you want to have printer access, open the printers window (see above) and double click the "Add Computer" icon. From the dialogue box, click "Add network, wireless or Bluetooth Printer." Your shared printer should appear on the list. Follow the prompts to install the printer, and you are ready to go!
Notes: The process is almost identical for WinXP and Windows 7 with small variations. Printer drivers will probably not be necessary, the remote computers may ask for one. Install the driver on each system as requested. Opening printer sharing can cause security vulnerabilities on improperly setup routers -- make sure that your wireless router is properly secured with WPA2 encryption and a security key (built-in features on most routers, but usually turned off by default).
