Question about Microsoft Fingerprint Reader Win Fingerprint Reader
I have tried to use the Microsoft Finger PrintReader and I receive 2 errors
Error#1 "Driver component mis-match. Exit is the only option"
Usaer Console Error#2 "Cannot Open user record for editing because its locked. Restart your computer and try again "
I have uninstalled the Digital Persona 2.0 and reinstalled it twice. I have applied the registry changes as highlighted on microsoft.com/hardware, but the errors still persist to annoy the mess out of me.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If you turn data execution prevention off (cntrl panel, system, performance steeings buton then the DEP tab) it will work.
It is better to add only the programs (.exe) from the BIN folder of your C:\Program Files\DigitalPersona\bin folders since DEP is a good security measure against many types of attacks.
The single fact that Microsoft keeps that bug around can be seen as "you will never get security with Big Brother". It is really ugly and, as an electronic engineer I think Microsoft Monopoily as somethiung to do with NSA CIA MOSSAD and wars.
I am sorry to say what my most honest intuition tells me :)
