Most printers require that the entire print alignment be done before it lets you pass this step. to me, it seems like a huge waste of ink! are you stopping the alignment before it's done? is there enough paper in the printer to complete the task? there are ways to avoid this step, you'll have to check your manual's troubleshooting section to find out how.

I no longer have my manual, how do I change the ink cartridges for the HP Officejet 6300 all-in-one?

To replace the print cartridges
1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on.
Caution If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door
to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the
cartridges for changing. You might damage the HP All-in-One if the print
cartridges are not docked safely on the right side when you try to remove
them.
2. Open the print cartridge door.
The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One.
3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a
print cartridge to release it.
If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the
slot on the left.
If you are replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge
from the slot on the right.
4. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot.
5. If you are removing the black print cartridge in order to install the photo print
cartridge, store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an
airtight plastic container.
If you are removing the print cartridge because it is low or out of ink, recycle the
print cartridge. The HP Inkjet Supplies Recycling Program is available in many
countries/regions, and lets you recycle used print cartridges free of charge. For
more information, go to the following website:
www.hp.com/hpinfo/globalcitizenship/environment/recycle/inkjet.html
6. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch
only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
7. Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Then gently push on the
upper part of the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket.
If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot.
If you are installing a black or photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.
8. Close the print cartridge door
9. If you installed a new print cartridge, the print cartridge alignment process begins.
10. Make sure you have plain paper loaded in the input tray, and then press OK.
11. The HP All-in-One aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print
cartridge alignment sheet.
12. Press OK.

My X6100 series printer is not working properly. I put in a new black cartridge and find that the alignment of the cartridge carrier is not lined up properly. When I send to printl, it prints only two...

If you have an instruction manual, it will give you directions about how to align the printer.
You can access the driver program in your computer.
There should be an icon on the desktop or go to the start menu and chose the program for your printer from there.
You will see when you bring up the program, how to troubleshoot and tweek it.

My HP Laserjet 1012 is printing at a slight right upward angle. any ideas? is there an alignment procedure i can perform?

Yes , this is an alignment problem

This sounds as the the paper is not being guided properly by the guide roller or transfer guides. May need cleaning or replacement is needed. \

Try opening the printer properties and cleaning the print heads (should probably be done each time a cartridge is changed), it uses some ink up but should clean the build up from running the previous cartridge dry and hopefully solve your printing problem.

Good luck.

Unable to print document 1" top, bottom, andleft and right. Font very small. Margin needs to be aligned with computer

and Hi again,

For some unknown reason(s) our Live Session was cut. Any development(s)?

Pls, in MS Word, have you tried clicking on File and then Print Preview? Would you so kind as to check if the way the document is shown is the same way the document was printed?

If yes, was the right margin as you would want it to be? otherwise, have you checked on the settings of the MS Word document specifically the right indent as shown below in red circle?

Would appreciate if you can post back any developments or even the lack of it.

Cheers.

Check that your black ink cartridge has ink inside, eventually try a new cartridge , as ink may have dried up in old cartridge.
If you use a new cartridge ensure you removed cellotape from cartrige.
If cartridge is ok, then it is printer nozzle/head for black ink.
In this case do nozzle check / head cleaning in printer tools a couple of times.
If problem persist you may need to check and clean printer's head with cotton and solvent.

Eratic printing of colour pages

probably needs an alignment test as well as a colour check.

Failing that try using a new ink cartridge.

Hope this helps
