The fault is from either the flex that connects the screen to the phone's main board or the fault is from the screen itself. You need to take your phone to a technician for check up so that you will know specifically where the fault is coming from.
i think you have a backlight problem....can you just see whats on the screen if you put a light up close to it. or is it dead. either of them... can be fixed but it will cost a little for repairs. get someone to do it. because there is a lot of delicate soldering to be done...
My friend did the same thing to her phone. The screen is going to be black. She can text, but without seeing what shes writing or hardly what anyone else is writing to her. I'm not a mechanic or anything, I would just get a new phone. Or maybe someone else can help you. Try searching on google or ask.com.
its a problem of lcd. was u droped it down.
meanly, check if u have enabled any option in lcd menu/contrast.
if all are ok in software relavant to lcd light/contrast then surely u have to replace ur lcd.
