My TV only comes on intermittantly and only when I push the front button. The red power light comes on, but no picture or sound. It can come on after I push the button on and off several times -- it's very unpredictable. However still has good picture/sound when on. I have tried plugging on and off, moving plugs, turning power strip on and off, etc. What else? Can't afford a new tv right now.

Possible blown fuse or worse. If you attempt to change the fuse use the same amps that is in it.

It's possible you may have bad solder connections on the chassis boards.

Switch from AV to regular TV viewing

You try pressing the AV button on the side, sequentially until it changes back to a Channel Number. It should cycle through AV1, AV2, RGB, etc

DVD player hook-up

The yellow is video and white is audio. On the remote is an input button that will switch the tv to video mode. If you didn't get the remote most stores sell the rca / ge replacement remotes.

Samsung TXJ2754 (27") DVD issues (Sound but no Picture)

Assuming you have picture on the TV when hooked up to cable, antenna or satellite I would take the DVD player to a friends house to see if it worked on their set (using your cables of course). If you can't get a picture on your TV no matter what, then it could be either the Jungle IC or EEPROM IC inside the set. Since it displays "No Video Signal" on the screen, that leaves out the High Voltage section of the TV. My main suspicion would be the video cable or settings on the DVD or TV.

Tv won't turn on

Most likly it is a problem in the power supply regulator circuit. pretty common for Toshiba TV sets. If you know about TV serviceing, first thing to replace would be the regulator IC as that is the problem 80% of the time. if that does not help then you will need a schematic to trace out the regulator circuit. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.
