Make sure you have a input button on the TV it's self and that the device that is connected is powered on and set to hdmi so the tv can see it or it will skip inputs where it sees no connection.

t's possible that the 5-year-old accidentally changed the input source on the Samsung TV, which is why you can't get the Fire Stick to work. Here are the steps you can follow to switch the input source back to the HDMI port where your Fire Stick is connected:
Turn on your Samsung TV and your Amazon Fire Stick.
Using your Samsung remote, press the "Input" button.
A list of input sources should appear on your screen. Use the arrow keys on your remote to select the HDMI port where your Fire Stick is connected. The HDMI port may be labeled as "HDMI 1," "HDMI 2," or something similar.
Press the "Enter" or "OK" button on your remote to select the HDMI input source.
Your TV should now switch to the HDMI input where your Fire Stick is connected, and you should see the Fire Stick's home screen on your TV.
If you're still having trouble, try unplugging the Fire Stick and plugging it back in to make sure it's properly connected. Also, make sure the TV and Fire Stick are both updated to their latest software versions.
If you have a cable box the channels are selected via the cable box remote and the TV is set to an HDMI video input. The specific input is identified where the HDMI cable connects from the box.
Use the video input remote to select the HDMI for the cable box.
Scanning is for identifing the over the air stations that use the coax input noted as antenna (ANT IN) on the back of the set.
If you have a Hitachi remote HL02121, that means your TV model number is either 32PD7800 or 42PD7800.
According to the Owner's Manual the HDMI connector is activated by going to AV6.
While in the TV mode on the remote, press the '' button with the AV6 above it. That will tell the TV to use the HDMI input.
IF you don't have access to the TV remote, there are INPUT SELECTION buttons on the TV near the Lower Left hand Corner of the cabinet. Press the INPUT SELECTION button until AV6 is displayed on the screen (HDMI Input)
If you have the remote for the television you can select the input channels by locating the "Source" or "Input" button. You'll then be able to select HDMI, VGA, TV, etc.
If you're lacking the remote the television itself should also have an Input/Source button in which you can then use to select HDMI.
Note: If using the television buttons pressing the Input/Source should cycle through the available selections, if not you may need to press this button ONCE and then cycle through your choices using Volume or Channel buttons. Once highlighted for a few seconds it should automatically select the desired channel - if not you will need to press your Input/Source button again to confirm your selection.
Hi there, You will need to determine if your DVD player is HDMI or Scart. If you connect it via a scart lead, then it should automatically turn on when you power it up, if not it will be located on your tv under the appropriate source/input label, ie AV1/AV2, or SCART. If you are using a HDMI lead, then you will have to turn it over yourself, as HDMI does not support switching control. To do this, locate the input button on your remote (sometimes labled source) and press it until you can select the correct HDMI input using either the directional buttons, or by repeatedly pressing the input button. Hope this helps TV_Doctor
You probably have the input selected to cable for the Activity that you are using.
In the software, click 'Settings' beside your activity then click 'Review the settings for this Activity'. Then, go through the setup wizard and make sure the input for the Activity is selected as 'HDMI'.
On your TV set remote are you selecting the proper input; for example when you have different devices connected to the back of your tv set, dvd player, vcr, cable box etc; you have to tell the tv which device you want to use by selecting the right one on your tv remove input selection. Hope this was any help.
