I'm pretty sure that my husband downloaded whatever needed to be downloaded. He keeps telling me that some icon should pop up.

You have to connect the camera using a USB cable (in some case, a
firewire cable) to any of the USB ports of your computer. Give your
machine a second or two to recognize and auto-install the needed
drivers/software. The PC normally auto displays content of the camera
(now recognized as possibly drive "E" or something). Thereafter it is a
matter of copy/paste or drag-0n-drop to your preferred folder in your
PC (more often My Pictures inside My Documents).

I no longer have the driver for my Fuji finipix A345, can i get a download for windows 7?

Consider NOT using a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Pictures cannot be download

When you try to transfer a large number of files (or a single large file) from a PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) device, such as a Sony Memory Stick, you may receive an error message saying that your computer cannot detect your camera or that, although it has detected the camera, the current picture cannot be copied. This happens because in older versions of WinXP the PTP driver limits file transfer to 2,048 files at one time and those files must be less than 210MB. If you update WinXP with Microsoft's latest service pack you should eliminate the problem.

Get the images off the card. Plug to your computer and download them. Then reformat the card in the Camera. If your computer is a Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista you will not need any extra software to do this. Windows can do it all by its self.
