OFFLINE problem - unable to print

Hi,
if your printers saying Offline, it means that your printer is not connected/switched on or detected by the computer.
Try a hard reset or re-installation of the printer itself.
power on/off ( On the printer )while this error message appears.
Check the cable from Printer To Computer.

My printer needs to be downloaded into the new computer I bought. I now have a new Dell, and my printer was working great. but after a few day had a glich in my Dell which caused me to have to hsve it...

After talking to a HP Technical support gentleman, I was told that my printer was not compatable with Vista. I bought my HP Printner in 2003, It was working but when my new Dell had to be reprogramed , It wouldn't work. So it didn't get resolved
Thank you

I have an HP Deskjet F4180 (all in one) printer. The printer keeps kicking off line when not using it. Every time I go to use the printer I have to go through getting it back online (Pain in the tail)

that has to do with your settings. If you can access the setting on the printer you can change it to always on. Im not familiar with that printer but my okidata allows me to change it. you should be able to get into the setting by going to printers and faxes or start, control panel, printer & faxes. double click and find your printer. right click the icon and try going to properties and look in there for the option online/ offline. if not in there try printing preferences and check there. Hope this helps.

My HP Deskjet F4140 was working fine until I got a piece of paper stuck. I removed and now it wont print. States printer off line and can not print a test page. IT will copy however.

Turn it off. Unplug the power cord from the printer & usb wait a minute. Plug USB in & than the power cable & turn it on. Next
Open the Printers folder.
Right-click the icon of the printer in use, and then click Open .
Click Printer on the menu, and then ensure that there are no checkmarks next to Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline . If a checkmark is present on either, click the menu option to remove it. If the menu shows Use Printer Online , click that option.

Question mark [red] over printer icon "documents pending, but will not plrint

The reason why my HP 1050 printer was offline was because the usb cable drop off from the computer. Once I connect the usb cable to the computer, it was put online again.
