Acer monitors all display the ACER logo when you turn them on. There are one of three most likely issues with the system.
If the monitor has multiple input jacks (VGA/DVI), check to be sure that the monitor is selecting the input that you have the computer connected to. One of the control buttons on the monitor should select input source.
If #1 is not the problem, the monitor itself may be faulty. The input jack may not be working. Test the system with another monitor if possible.
If another monitor doesn't work either, then you have a problem with the on-board graphics adapter for the computer. You will either need to replace the computer, or if possible, install a graphics card into the machine to take over for the failed portion of the motherboard.
Hello there
You dont say which machine you have but a common problem is they are set for the WRONG input,
Have you checked using the 'onscreen' menu,of the monitor that you are looking at the right INPUT ???? D-sub is the 15 pin video cable input from your computer to the monitor. .It will go dark if you are not supplying a signal on that input.
Turned on computer (Pavilion a1657c), HD light operates, Monitor has little window saying:
HDMI Input: No Input Signal
VGA Input: No Input Signal
Recommended Settings: 1920x1080 - 60hz
Changed from the monitor that came with it (HP f2105 digital ouyput) to my Samsung analog and same message comes on dark screen.
when monitors recieve no input the usually turn off or at least turn black.
it is possible that you have the monitor set to the wrong input, or that the cable is not connected correctly at the computer, sometimes there are multiple connections available, especially when there is both an on-board and an additional graphics driver.
if none of those things are the cause of the problem, there is a chance that the monitor is not receiving enough electricity, this can be very dangerous, try unplugging anything using the same wall socket or fuse and trying then.
No input usually indicates the machine is having trouble getting a video signal from the monitor. Check and make sure the monitor cable is connected properly. If you have another monitor also test the machine with another monitor.
TRY UNPLUGGING COMPUTER AND MONITOR AND DISCONNECTING MONITOR FROM THE BACK OF THE COMPUTER. BE SURE TO UNPLUG AND NOT TURN OFF. WAIT ONE MINUTE THEN PLUG COMPUTER BACK IN . RECONNECT MONITOR TO THE BACK OF THE COMPUTER AND PLUG IN. IF THIS WORKS, WAIT FOR NEW HARDWARE RECOGNIZED TO COME ON. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, IF ANY. RESTART COMPUTER.
Turn the television on and as soon as the screen turns on repeatily press the input button or change the input to whatever input you are using from a source device. As long as you change it to anything other than RGB.
Your television is essentially a big computer monitor with multiple inputs and a tuner. When using your computer and shutting it down the monitor will go in a power save mode. You don't need to shut off your monitor due to this power saving mode. When you power up your computer your monitor automatically turn on.
With the VIZIO and the RGB (computer) input the television will act just like a computer monitor. When you have a computer connected it will power down automatically when you shut off your computer. When you turn your computer on the VIZIO will automatically come out of standby mode. This is through RGB only.
This is normal operation for the VIZIO but can see confusing when nothing is connected to the RGB input. If you change your television input to RGB it will sense no signal on the input and will go into standby mode after about 5 - 10 seconds. If you were to send a signal to the television through RGB it would automatically kick on.
chk ur monitor with the input cable disconnected(the one coming frm CPU to MONITOR) if ur monitor shows any thing like no input then ur monitor is ok
and it means that ur OS has crashed.
Install new OS.
