-   I just bought a 50" Panasonic Plasma HDTV (TH-50PX75U). I saved $60 buying an "open box" special.
I'm guessing the reason it was on "special" was that the original owner encountered the issue I'm having.
After being on for about 1 hour... a set of black bars appeared on the left side of the screen. There are two of them (about 1.5" each / about 1.5" apart) on the left side only.
They appear whether I'm watching DirecTV satellitel connection or DVD playback.
This is not something that can be adjusted by me is it?-   MICopeland

-   We're having a similar problem with our LG plasma (model# DU-42PX12X). We had absolutely no problems with this TV until a couple of days ago when suddenly half the screen got vertical bar lines of various colours.  Sound works great and so does the other half of the screen, but the TV isn't much good to us the way it is.  We haven't done anything yet because up until reading about the dry sockets, we had no idea what it could be.Thanks for any assistance.-   Elbee1956
