Question about Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

Hi, Just installed a new RTP202 amplifier connected to a Pioneer 10 inch TS-SW104D speaker that is rated at 250 Watts nominal/1000 Watts Max music power. (4 ohm) The only noise coming from the speaker, regardless of the head unit or amp gains settings, is a low rumble. -Measured 12 V to amp -Zero ohms from amp ground to battery negative terminal -Remote turn on voltage is around 10 V from the Alpine CDE-9981 receiver but amp light turns on. -RCA connectors from head unit to amp are correct polarity. Thanks, Gary King -

For a 12 inch 4 Ohm DVC with 1200 Watts Max/400 Watts Nominal what size amp should I be using?

The speaker info is telling you that a 400watt input is nominal or stable. and handle anything that can Peak up to 1200watt , the speaker can handle the 1200watt but not for long periods. Distortion will likely occur well before then anyway. On my home stereo, I have twin Marshalls which are 500 watt each going to JBL,s rated at 150 watt with 250 peak. The ratings are a bit different from manufacturer to manufacturer. Ive found the system is really powerful but there is very little to no distortion as the amp is not needed to be cranked up to get the volume I want. If you run an amp that is too big for the speakers, it will sound really loud for a while, then distortion happens then watch your speaker cones self destruct or the voice coils burn out. If you run an amp that is too small, you will need to turn it up more for the volume and then distortion sets in earlier, which is the biggest destroyer of any speaker.

What amp for a Pioneer TS-W304C 10 inch

Wow, i just answered a similar question so, pretty much the same answer.......

You seem to be looking for an amp made for car audio. There are many brands, but I going to give you the specs for your particular speaker which will help in choosing, not a specific name brand amp, but at least one with the proper power outputs/requirements.

Your speaker, based on the model number you provided, is rated at 4 ohms .Nominal power handling range is 300 watts. And a peak of 600watts. That does not mean start cranking 600 watts thru the speaker, it will blow. I suggest you acquire a single (mono) channel amp that provides 350-400 watts at 4 ohms. Leaves you a little headroom on the amp, but use caution.

Hope these specs help you in choosing an amp.

How do I make a sub box for my single ten inch re sx 10 inch sub dat is 1000 rms. Da box needs to be tuned to 35 hz

yeah, you likely cant build a box to tune 35hz... try just building a box that has correct spec by the manufacture for ideal operation, and adjust the gain accordingly, that's where you will attain your desired hertz, oh and by the way hertz refers to signal, and pulse rate,

Speakers

Hi Trim God,

I do not reccommend that you push the Pioneer speakers over 100 watts.  The jenson will already drown the car with bass through your pioneers so much you will want to turn off the bass boost when playing some low bass hip hop songs. It changes from one venue of song to another, so I just keep the jenson bass boost off and use my head unit to adjsut the sound to fit my listening prefences. I am telling you man, you will be blown away .  Hook up the pioneers straight to the Channels,. do not bridge.  I put Subs in my truck though.  I used the Pass output to send the audio to me Jenson 2 Channel 600W amp. I drive one 10 inch enclosed JBL Class A/B Sub. I bridged the output of the 600 W amp to the 10 inch sub  in my Z28.  The pioneers never get drowned out.  I did smoke my 2 channel Amp one time. and also took out a MTD 10inch sub. I am talk shooting flames and smoked the whole car up. I think if you bride the XA4150 to the pioneers, you will have the flaming smoke problem in no time.
