Most of these HK receivers have a 3.6v rechargable battery on the front panel board. If the battery dies, you lose memory when it is turned off/unplugged/power failure. The battery is soldered on the board. Not replaceable by the user unless you are a tech. It should keep memory if left in standby.

I've managed to find a Service Manual an 3370 which included Tech Tip TIP# HKTT2003-01 Rev5;
Subject: Backup Memory on AVR/DPR/HK series receivers
In the event of the complaint: ?the receiver is losing its memory (any programmed system settings)
when the unit is turned off, or after the unit is unplugged (briefly*)?:
Check and replace:
AVR300 C906 Front PCB 0.1Farad 5.5v capacitor # J4433210421X
or # P10791-ND
Some models have a battery, some have a capacitor.
The SM for the AVR300RDS does not include this TT but does include some other ones (DTS, Volume problems). The sm's are all online for free on the HK site, just not listed so finding them is pretty hard.
I've ordered an 0.1F 5.5V Super Capacitor on eBay and hope to fix the problem with it.
