If your machine is a front loader it could be leaking from the door if the gasket is not properly on. If its a top loader then it could be overfilling due to a faulty water level control pressure switch. Need yo know which it is.

Slight leek on the front

In most cases, leaking is a sign of a clogged drain filter or drain pump. Water backs up and will find the point of least resistance. If you require further assistance, please post back with the make/model of your washer including if it's a top or front load machine.
