I have the same issue with a 1515L Monitor. It comes on for a split second and goes off? or picture goes away. Picture looks fine at all resolutions and touch screen is working also.

Jcleary916, You or qualified electronics technician will need to find out why "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" fail to sustain output of white light that enables you to see what is on the LCD panel. CCFL inverter supply probably needs work on it. Do some reading in my and other fixya lcd monitor tech'e profiles. You will be amazed that so many other owners of ALL brands of CCFL back-lit monitors have YOUR exact same symptom as your's does. And then think about all the other owners who don't find their way to fixya for an answer!!! Keep in touch by doing another comment to this one after you do some reading. Then let me know what you are willing to do about your BLACK or BLANK n BLACK CCFL back-lit LCD monitor and how old it is!!! 12fixlouie

DiBella, There are more than 7 models of the 1515L out there!!! You will need to find the "E" number on unit when contacting the factory for service or parts. The number is 6 digits long and preceded by the letter E. 12fixlouie

An Elo 1515L has a set resolution of 1024 x 768. I'm not sure if there is something special with Macs, but you can check the OSD (On Screen Display) settings.

Power supply section will be the first place to check, find out if you do hav 12~18vdc feeding the inverter circuits.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Hello,

I believe the power led button is still on while the screen goes black, if yes, it means the picture board of your monitor is bad that is why it appears for a second and goes black after that

Since the power led button is on, It means the picture board on your monitor is faulty that is why it appears for a second and goes black.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or any service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself in other to complicate issues.

Take care.

Try the monitor on another computer that you know works, If it works on another computer then that means you have no video output on the original computer and you'll need to reseat the memory on that computer.

If you get the same response on another computer, then that means the monitor is bad and you'll need to replace it.

Philips 190v monitor

I have had the same EXACT problem and it was driving me CRAZY!!! I took it to a local electronics handy man who changed the power source for me and it works just fine now, or I wouldnt be able to read you message now! It cost about 1/4 of the original price of the monitor to fix, but its worth it and the screen will last 3-4 years on top of the 2 I have had it already!

Display works - but only for a plit second...

Lower your resolution on your computer. Usually when that happens the resolution is set higher than what the monitor can support. Lower the resolution and try again.

Bank Monitor problems

Unplug the cable from your PC, if the monitor shows a test image, the monitor is fine and the problem is with your graphic card. If you dont see nothing on-screen after unpluging the cable from the PC, then the monitor in damaged. Send it to repair.
