Thanks that confirmed my other lines of investigation -its such a sham that only in the small print -somewhere in the manual -is this important fact mentioned -it should be compulsory for sales staff to sell a surge protector plug -as nothing was brought to my attention by PC World Bury St Edmunds -or even better the manufacturers could build it in -a complete waste of the best part of £150-00 Ah well thankyou for your reply bowdo

If your machine has suffered a power surge it is likely to have affect the main board or ROM chip (On the mainboard) with symptoms explained. The ROM will make a pattern of beeps but if its continual it will probably be the main board. It will be more than likely not worth repair if out of warranty if it is the main board.

Samsung AQV24U series - recent electrical blackout - now keeps beeping every 30 seconds and won't turn on - have switched off mains and separate cut off switch for air cond and still continues

It sounds like you had an electrical surge and it has damaged your unit. I would suggest contacting your home owner insurance and see what they recommend. This may not work depending on your deductibable.

Presario SR1303wm power blinking when turn on.

My best guess is that the card somehow got a surge.
Consider yourself lucky that only this card took the hit.
Since you have a surge protector, let me ask you this. Was the surge protector connected to a power socket which is earthed?

they generally come with a guaranteed protection, and as long as the surge protector is connected to a earthed socket, the manufacturer of the surge protector should be contacted and will generally reimburse or replace your product up to a predetermined maximum value.

If not, depending on the graphics card and the manufacturer's (in this case, PNY) warranty, you might be able to have it RMA'd.
Then again, in all honesty, PNY isn't the best when it comes to providing RMA service... So I wish you good luck, and I hope my answer has helped you :)

TV will not power up, no lights blinking just a continuous beeping sound

Please follow the below troubleshooting steps: 1. If the Television is plugged into a surge protector, remove it from the surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. 2. Try connecting the TV to a different AC wall outlet. 3. Try power resetting the TV. To Reset the TV, disconnect the power cord for a short period of time (approximately 1 minute), then reconnect the power cord and power ON the TV. 4. If the issue still persists, TV will require service.

The oven was continuously beeping last night. Hit everything on the display setup to try to get it to stop. Eventually it shut off all together(the beeping and display) not the only thing that is showing...

Ok. this is a control fault. the chip set is damaged. this will usually happen when there is a surge or power failure during a storm or faulty transformer on the outside pole. you Will need to replace this damaged Electronic control board if possible . it has failed.

You can confirm my diagnosis by cutting the power to the oven for 5 minutes. this will reset the control. if the oven continues to react this way with the constant beeping and, non action, this will confirm major control failure..It is possible that this reset will recognize the program and fix this fault but, normally, a fault of this nature will require the replacement of the Oven control board.

Frigidaire Tumble Action Washer - lights flash, beeps, does nothing else...

If you have had a lightning storm or power surge it may have fried the electronics panel. That is what happened to mine. Once it is fixed you should put a surge suppressor on it that is rated for major appliances.
