Ever since it was new at times when turned on it had a real high picthed noise but you could turn it off and back on and most of the time it was fine after that, but now it doesn't have a picture only sound but it still works if you are playing the xbox on it must be something in the tuner and i wonder if it is worth fixing thanks Archie

High pitch noise

Sounds like a bad capacitor. Careful, they hold a big charge long after being turned off. They are usually not too expensive. Bad ones will bulge at the top or bottom, leak.

Toshiba HD ready TV ct 90158 makes high pitched sound

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.

The heater in my 1984 f150 makes a loud high picth whine what is it?

It may be debris that found its way down the defrost vents at the windshield to the motor. It is making contact with the spinning fan, causing the noise. It can be a piece of paper, or anything that was on the dash that could fit down inside the vent. It may self destruct and then it will be quiet, otherwise, you will need to open up the fan assembly to remove it.
