I forgot my Password on My Emachine Laptop, I keep on Tapping f8 And it dosent do nothing

Forgot Windows password? It seems a terrible thing to hear that. As my personal experience, I think you need to make use of a third party to reset Windows password.

Before, I have used two of WindowsPassword Recovery Tool which did a big help for me. Now I want to share with u.

The first is Ophcack, a freeware. I should mention that it is not so easy to operate if you are not a professional.

The other is Windows Password Reset an easy-to-use and efficient tool with Windows password reset.

My laptop says windows error recovery

The Windows Error Recovery message can appear for several reasons- an improper shutdown, new software, new hardware, etc. Since trying both options that you are given doesn't work, you need to troubleshoot the Windows startup error. If you have recently added new hardware, disconnecting or removing it could solve the problem for you as it might be creating some type of incompatibility.

Troubleshooting Windows Error Recovery: Last Known Good Configuration

You can attempt to boot up in Safe Mode and select Last Known Good Configuration and see if that works to resolve the Windows startup error. Turn the computer on and immediately begin to press the "F8″ key. If this does not work, you might need to press the "F2," "F10," or "F12″ key. Once you see the prompt screen, select "Last Known Good Configuration."

Troubleshooting Windows Error Recovery: Booting up from the Installation Disk

If that did not work, try booting up the laptop using the Windows installation disk - provided you still have it. If so, follow these steps:

1)   Turn the power button to your laptop on.

2)   Immediately insert the Windows installation disk that belongs to the laptop.

3)   When you see the option for "Check System," press the "ESC" key. Next, press the "F1″ key. Your laptop should now boot up.

4)   You can now use the "System Restore" feature to allow your laptop to return to a previous setting when it was functioning properly. This might mean selecting "R" for recovery.

The computer starts up fine then it tell me to Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key. Please help

The windows install from your laptop is severely corrupted and you must reinstall it using the recovery cd that came with it when you bought it. If the error returns very quickly then it's caused by a dying hard disk replace it and reinstall one more time.

When i format my lenovo laptop i entered the windows 7 activation code and i restarted my laptop suddenly secure and recovery page is on the screen.what shall i do?

Hi wael,

I see that you installed Win7 on your Lenovo but you are getting a recovery page when you got it started up.

It shows that Windows 7 did not install properly or may have encountered an error during the installation of Win7, try reinstalling Windows7 again or just run the recovery on the machine and insert the disc if the system asks for the disc to be inserted cause it may need some files to fix what ever error it may have experienced.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day

I was trying to create the Recovery Management disk but everytime I try to burn the CD it keeps ejecting. I would really like it if you could provide some help. I recently bought this E-Machine computer...

Welcome to Fixya

Please see procedure below on how to create recovery disk. Let me know if smae thing will happen.

  • 1

Click the "Start" icon on the Windows Vista home screen. Select "eMachines," then click "eMachines Recovery Management." The eMachines Recovery Management program opens.

  • 2

Click "Create Factory Default Disc." The program will tell you how many discs you will need. Make sure the correct optical drive is selected, then insert a blank disc into that drive. Click "Start" to begin the burning process.

  • 3

Remove the disc when it is finished burning and label it "Recovery CD 1." Insert the next the next blank disc if one is required. Click "OK" to begin burning the next disc. Repeat this step until all of the discs have been created and labeled. Close the eMachines Recovery Management program, insert the system CD that came with the laptop and restart the laptop.

  • 4

Press "F12" repeatedly when the eMachines logo is displayed on the screen to be redirected to the Boot menu. Select the optical drive, then press "Enter."

  • 5

Insert Recovery CD 1 when you are prompted to insert the recovery disc. The eMachines Recovery Management program will open.

  • 6

Click the "Restore" tab in the list on the left side of the eMachines Recovery Management program window, then select "Completely Restore System to Factory Defaults." The computer automatically restarts and the recovery process begins. Insert any additional recovery discs as requested. The computer will reboot automatically when the laptop has been recovered to its original factory default settings, and you will be taken to the Windows Setup screen.

This error ocurrs due the incomplete installation.
If your CD drive is not working properly must be replaced

You can try to make a copy in another computer of your recovery disk and then try again.

Or you can insert a windows cd and choose the option R (recovery console) and restore all the original windows files.
