Water Cooler Problem

I have 2 water coolers here at home which i want to use this summer, the problem is that i have unplugged them for several weeks and now i plug them back in and try and use them, no matter how much i flush them with water i am still getting little bits and pieces of white (limescale) coming out and into the drink, therefore meaning i cant use them, ive tried lots and lots of water but i dont feel confident this has worked as the white bits keep turning back up in the cup as u pour a cold drink :(
one of ther problems will be that u cant just pour stuff into these machines (i dont think) as when u put a huge 25 litre container on the top of it upsidedown then it acts as pressure make the water go into the cooler i think, dont quote me as i could be wrong, i could maybe puncture the top of one of the canisters and pour a solution into the water to send into the machine but obviously it needs to be friendly so we dont get poisoned after :)
Maybe, just maybe theres a water cooler engineer out there or someone that can help.
Thanks for all your help in advance :)

CLR product has claimed to be the solution to clean Hot Water Kettle and Shower mouth etc..., the product claims to be safe for these cleaning jobs, why not try it by pouring the CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) in a hot water solution, let it sit for a while and dain it though the hot and cold taps, rinse it by flushing with clean water and it should solve your lime problem. This product is sold at local Hardware stores.

Two things to add: You can warm that solution and then flush with water to speed the process. If taste is an issue, make up a solution of sodium bicarbonate and water (a cup per gallon) and run it through the unit a liter at a time. Then flush out with plain water.

You might try a strong solution of vinegar and water and then flush it later till it tastes right

We have model 11502 air purifier. Recently turned it on and it ran for a few minutes and then stopped. Motor sounded fine- no squealing, didn't slow down before it went off- just stopped like it was...

Yes there is a thermal cutoff that will shut the motor off for a period of time to protect it from getting to hot. If this is what happened after 20-30 mins. the motor should come back on and run again. If it does I would try to clean motor as best I could using a soft brush, vacumn, and blow out with air if possible. Clean fan of f as best you can to help motor run cooler.Hope this helps.Thank you

Will the Breeze AT help with the house hold dust kicked up by 2 St. Bernards etc. Also, can I clean the filter myself?

It should help to reduce the amount of air borne dust in your home. The filter can be cleaned either by vacuuming the lint screen or removing it and washing it with hot water and using a toothbrush to remove any dust buildup. Clean the purification plate with a 50/50 solution of water and amonia and a toothbrust to clean the grids. Allow both to dry completely before reinstalling. Make sure that the lint filter has the clip depressing the safety switch when reinstalling it. Hope this helps you.

How do I clean the Oreck Air 7

Hi There,

Here's how you can clean the machine, and I have copied the link to the owners manual below for your convenience.

Cleaning
The Cabinet
You can clean the air purifier cabinet with mild, non-abrasive cleanser and a
soft cloth. IMPORTANT: Unplug the unit from its electrical power source.
Do not spray cleansers or furniture polish into the louver or grill areas.

Collector Cell
Indicator light is green under normal operation and flashes red
when the cell requires cleaning. To clean, proceed as follows:
The red "WASH CELL" light will flash or illuminate when it is
time to clean your cell. However, it is recommended that every four to
eight weeks or if snapping sounds become frequent, clean your
electronic air purifier. Your electronic air purifier is still filtering the air
when the red light illuminates. Cleaning your electronic air purifier is a
snap too... and a must for efficient operation.
1. Turn the unit off and unplug it from the electric power source. If wall
mounted, remove unit from wall.
2. Remove front grill by unscrewing the retainer screw under the grill on
the cabinet bottom. (fig. 1)

3. Pull the cell out of the cabinet by using the two small handles on the
front of the cell. (fig. 2)

4. Snap off the charcoal odor absorber from the back of the cell. Change
as necessary for continued odor removal. (fig. 3)
5. Slide off pre-filter. This can be cleaned with the cell and reused. (fig. 4)
NOTE: Handle the electronic cell with care. Damaged metal plates
and/or broken wires will cause the air purifier to malfunction. (Do
not wash charcoal odor absorber; it is disposable.)
Cleaning with Assail-A-Cell® Cell Cleaner:
6. Using Assail-A-Cell® Cleaner, thoroughly saturate the cell and prefilter.
Be sure to spray between each cell plate and cover every
surface. Allow product to soak for a few minutes, not allowing it to dry.
Rinse thoroughly with water. For extremely heavy deposits, repeat the
process.
IMPORTANT: Dry the collection cell thoroughly outside of the
air purifier before reinstalling it into the air purifier. Ensure
that all areas including corners and areas that may trap
water are dry before reinstalling into the air purifier. DO NOT
place a wet or damp collection cell in the air purifiereff1848.jpg

I HAVE A RAINSOFT UV AIR FILTER IN MY AIR DUCT WHERE DO I GET REPLACEMENT BULBS, AND WHAT IS THE PROPER BULB AND SIZE?

Cleanwater also has them. Clean them with rubbing alcohol, do not let your fingers touch the bulbs. And check your 24V ac adapter. If it starts going you will get a power light but the other lights will come and go. I have one and the bulbs are nearing the end of life, not a cheap fix.

How much water should i use

I run mine day and night while home and clean and re-fill it every morning. I also use one of the room odor eliminators in my Rainmate. Fill the water one inch above the line about an inch off the bottom of the water container.

Vaillant boiler - heating OK, but no hot water.

Most likey problem is the diverter valve, not energising fully. This in turn will not move the little plastic lever arm that actuates the microswitch on the side, sending the signal to ignite.

You can buy a diaghram kit from most local plumb centres, you need to replace the diaghram and seals, don't forget the silicon grease to ensure the plunger doesnt stick. Kits less than a tenner.

You should have noticed before it stopped working completely the water had reduced in temperature before the weeks it failed.

To make sure it is a diverter valve fault, depress the microswitch if you can, when the hot water is flowing and hey presto the demand for hot water light should shine.

I would recomend calling the 800 number to answer that question. I have this unit too and the instructions do NOT say to soak in Amonia and Vinegar! Good luck with that!

When you add water, you should notice bubbles (just a few) on top of the water.  When the water no longer has bubbles, the additive is shot, and you should wash out the tank.  We have dirty air, and it takes about 2 weeks for us.  I spray it with Murphy's Soap to soak a few minutes and wipe it out with a sponge.  Rinse.   Spray the wheel similarly (all over) and spray with a kitchen hose, as hot as possible.  You may have to repeat.  I clean my wheel between tank cleaning, so it doesn't build up.  You should use the additive, because the water has to be slippery to work with the wheel.  Maybe you can find a different "wetting solution,"  that would be cheaper;  Venta gets an arm and a leg for it.  Good Luck.  I like the performance of mine, but it is temperamental.
