You can clean the lens with a small amount of windex and put a little oil like 3 and 1 oil on the spindle motor shaft and on the sled rails. Good luck !

I can't get my DVD to play movies in my latitude d610 computer

You may need to install WinDVD , Interactual Video player, or some similar video player software. The drive will read data CD's and DVD's with Windows , but it needs video codecs (supplied with the video player software) to play DVD movies and media.

Videos wont play properly

Reset your Internet connection.

To do this, unplug both your Internet modem and any wired or wireless router you have connected to it.

Leave the devices disconnected for around 30 seconds before plugging them back in.

This will reset your Internet connection and correct any video hiccups that were a result of a problem with either device.

Allow a streaming video to load completely before watching it.

If you're watching a video over the Internet on a site such as YouTube or Break.com, hit "Pause" once the video begins to load.

Wait until the "Status" indicator bar fills up completely before attempting to play the video. This will delay the video from playing until all of it is available on your computer, which will fix any intermittent stops and starts you may be experiencing.

Close any programs that are consuming your computer's system resources.

Right-click on your computer's task bar and select "Start Task Manager."

Click on "Processes" and close any program that is taking up a large amount of your computer's memory.

You might think about adding more ram

If you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the

Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.

first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system

you should always ask for a guarantee on the compatibility before making any purchase and try to buy for working pairs if possible

Memory is an integral component of your computer's ability to properly play a video file, and the more memory your web browser (for online videos) or your media-playing software (for videos on your computer's hard drive) has, the better.

Try using a different program to play your movie file.

If you're playing a file from the Internet, try using a different web browser and see if that affects the video's quality.

If you're playing a video off of your computer's hard drive, try using a different media player to see if that fixes the intermittent stops and starts

hope this helps

When viewing video such as on youtube, it will run for about 10 seconds then stop for about 30 secs then run again for 10 seconds and stop and start again

this is called "Buffering" it is due to poor download speed.
If anything else is using your internet connection, stop it while you watch streamed video

Can i upgrade the memory chips so my i tunes movies will play correctly

go to www.crucial.com and click on 'scan my system'. It will tell you if you can increase the RAM.
here are the specs
2 x 184-pin DIMM sockets support two 2.5V DDR SDRAMs (DDR333/266/200)
Maximum memory : 2GB

It may be your video card, this is an old low end motherboard so it will struggle playing HD movies.

Game not working due to less video memory

Restart your computer and your friend's computer, at the same time. Press <DEL> to enter BIOS-setup on each computer.
Do both computers show _exactly_ the same amount of RAM?
One BIOS-setting may allow you to "dedicate" some of the RAM to be used for "video-memory". Do both computers show the same amount of "dedicated" RAM?

Samsung lcd tv le32r8 (Picture - Movie setting)

The TV is probably in Shop mode, when your TV is initially turned on you can choose between Shop mode or Home Mode.
In Shop mode the TV automaticly returns to the standard setting after a while, they do this so customers can "play" with it.

Press down de Volume button and then hold down the Menu button for five seconds on the side panel of the tv.

Archos 704 Wifi - does not play AVI file until its full lentgh

I had the same issue.
The size of the AVI cannot exceed 1gb or the end of the movie will never play.

I had a movie that was 1,7gb. 2 hrs and 15 seconds.
The Archos recognized this as a 1.7gb file and 2:00:15 long.
As soon as the movie started, the time line bar at the bottom of the screen went from 2:00:15 to 1:10:25. Basically, it cut off the last 50 minutes of the movie.

I simply divide the movie into 1gb chunks.

I decrypt the DVD to the computer
Use Nero Recode to convert it to and MP4. Divide the movie into 1gb chunks and Maximize the Volume.
Use SUPER to convert it to an AVI / MPEG-4 / MP3.
Copy this to the Video folder of the Archos.

This is simply something that Archos does not want to admit is an issue. They want you to purchase the Cinema plugin.
