My Pentex Optio E80 says lens error:0x3110000 and won't close.

I just got a Pentex for Christmas and I've only dropped it on carpet once...yet It doesn't open or close fully. I have tried to put new batteries in and wait a few hours, but it still won't close. It keeps on saying "Lens Error: 0x3110000" and turns off whenever I try to turn it on. It has happened once before but fixed itself within a few minutes. I'm really worried because my dad got it for me and I'm not sure what the warranty covers.I really need help. Thanks.

It looks like you've knocked the lens barrel out of alignment. Its all supported by some very delicate cogs and gears. It's probably slipped a tooth somewhere.

To be honest, I'd come clean with your Dad and try and get it repaired under warranty.

My system is not supporting my camera optio pentex s5i

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

W what size SD memory card can i use?can i use

You may use any SD card up to 2GB in size. Make sure you don't try larger SDHC cards, as they won't work.

Hi, my problem of my pentax optio e80 is that, when i'm going to have a picture the lens show CARD IS LOCKED how can i solve this problem. thank you!

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Turns on beeps lens comes out tries to focus

HI, this will occur when there ia a lens mechanism failuer. Inside the cam housing , there is a mechanism that is powered by a small servo motor. this mech can become lose or unstable, in return, jamming itself open or closed. When this happens, you will need to send it to the manufacture for this repair. they will replace the motor and mechanism as well. Contact Pentex for a repair ticket. they will refer you to a nearby repair depot.

Pentax Camera problem

The camera has probably an internal damage due to the shock.

Try removing batteries for two minutes, this will reset it, try heping lens in and out if they are stuck.
If this simple procedures cannot fix it, the camera must be taken apart, tested and reassembled. this is a job that is better done by a technician.

If the camera does not restart, and you need service, you can call the service number listed on the user manual, or check contact page on Pentax website.
