My Dell Vistro 1500, running XP, locks up when I try to download Adobe Flash from Adobe's download site. I get no pop-up security message, just a "blip" sound as it locks-up.

The 'funny' thing about Adobe Flash Player is that it does Not automatically uninstall the older version.
You have to use the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller Tool.

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

On this page go to line 1. Click on the blue -
uninstall_flash_player.exe

Download the file, then go to where you downloaded it, and double-click on the file name.
(Double-clicking opens the file)
Click on Run.
Yes, Microsoft it's a good file.

After you have run Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller, restart your computer.
Now go back to Adobe Support, and download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.

Have additional questions, or need clarification to what I have stated, please post in a Comment.

You have to remove previous flash player and install it again. During installation your browser (Mozila firefox or others) have to be closed. When you close your browser your installation will be start automatically.

When i open youtube . site is open but when i clik on video a massage displays that is "Try again"

It sounds to me like your flash player installation is corrupted, in order to correct this you will need to uninstall the program and reinstall it again.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Programs

Proceed to click on Adobe Flash Player, then uninstall. Follow the prompts that come up and uninstall flash player. Your computer will most likely need to reboot, if so go ahead and do that, if not then you can move onto the next step.

Go to Adobe's site here http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ and click on Download Now. A dialog box will open, download the file someplace easily accessed, such as your desktop. Certain web browsers may attempt to block the file from download, if this happens there should be a dialog box at the top of the website that will allow access for you to download from adobe's website, go ahead and click allow.

Once you have the file downloaded to your desktop, go ahead and double click the Adobe flash player icon and follow the subsequent dialog boxes, once flash is reinstalled you may once again have to restart your computer. Once this is all finished you should be able to play youtube videos again.

I want to change the hardware on my Olevia 342 HDTV, so I need the Repair Manual. Not the User Manual, the Repair Manual.

Hi,

Service manuals are not usually freely available to the public, however I have located a source for the manual you require in English. I'm not entirely certain it's the "official" version, but it covers all the areas such as dis-assembly and the hardware internals that you definitely wont get in the user manual.

Please click on the following link to open the download page in a new window. About 4 inches down the page on the left hand side you will see "Get Manual Not logged in Only 2 downloads allowed a day". (see attached image below)

http://elektrotanya.com/olevia_lt32hv_lt37hve.pdf/download.html

Click on "Get Manual" and a box should open where you can choose to "Open" or "Save" the file. Choose "Save" and save it to an easy to remember location on your PC such as your "Desktop" or "Documents" folder for future reference.

Depending on your browser security settings, the Open/Save box may not appear. If this happens, you will need to click on the gold bar at the top of download page and choose the "download this file" option.

Once you have saved the file you can open it from the location you saved it to and print if required. If you are unable to open the file after you have downloaded it, you may also need to download Adobe Reader:

http://get.adobe.com/reader

I'm sure you already know how to download and save files, and I don't wish to be patronising, however it's better to include all the relevant information, than be asked for it later when things don't work as planned.

I have downloaded the manual myself and I verify it is virus-free and I'm certain it will contain the information you require.

Regards,
BElectric

Help My farmville will not load at all. I tried to upgrade the adobe and that won't work eather Help

Sorry Farmville I have no advice. Adobe Flash Player > Yes.

When upgrading to a newer version of Adobe Reader Flash Player, the old version does not automatically get deleted. You have to manually delete it yourself. (Not that hard. Read on)

If the old version isn't deleted, the new version will not install.

To delete the old version us the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller, from Adobe.com

1) http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.
Where it states the heading > Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller, go below, and click on the blue >
Tech Note.

This is where it takes you. I just wanted you to see the main Adobe Flash Player Support page,
and know this is the genuine thing,

2) http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

On this page go to number 1. in the list, and click on the blue > uninstall_flash_player.exe

After you click on the file name a small window will come up.
Opening uninstall_flash_player.exe

Click on Save File.
In the next small window that comes up on the left, quickly observe the heading.
This tells you where the file will go.

The file may go to your desktop screen. Minimize all windows, and look at your desktop.

If not the file may go to your My Documents folder. (WinXP)
Click on Start > My Documents, and see if it's there. (uninstall_flash_player.exe)

It may be within a sub-folder of My Documents called Downloads.
Click on Start > Double-click on My Documents > Double-click on Downloads.

When you see the file name Double-click on it.
Follow the simple instructions.

If you are asked, restart your computer. If you are not asked restart anyway.

After Windows has fully loaded again, go back to the first Adobe Flash Player link, and download the newest version of Adobe Flash Player.
(Click on the white f in the red box to the left of > Get the latest version)

After downloading, and installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, be sure to restart your computer again.

I have windows xp on my computer and I can't uninstall adobe 9.1.1, how can I get it off my computer?

Due to recent enhancements to the Adobe Flash Player installers, you can now remove the player only by using the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller. To remove Flash Player, simply download and run the appropriate uninstaller for your system using the steps below.
  1. Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller:
  2. Save the file to your system, choosing a location where you can find it (for example, your desktop). Macintosh users may need to open or unstuff the .hqx file.
  3. Quit ALL running applications, including all Internet Explorer or other browser windows, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, or other Messengers. Check the Windows system tray carefully to make certain no applications are still in memory which might possibly use Flash Player.
  4. Run the uninstaller. This will remove Adobe Flash Player from all browsers on the system.
Note: The uninstaller cannot remove files currently in use.
If you have any instances of the player open in your web browsers, instant messaging clients, stand-alone SWFs, or projectors, then the uninstaller will complete but some files may not be deleted. If this occurs, then close all of your applications and run the uninstaller again to ensure that all files are removed.
Note: Internet Explorer users may have to reboot to clear all uninstalled Flash Player ActiveX control files. If you're not certain, select the "Show Details" button in the Flash Player uninstaller. If there are any log lines that begin with "Delete on Reboot..." then you'll need to reboot BEFORE running the Flash Player installer again.

Follow the steps below to delete this file.

2) Click on Tools, Click on Internet Options
3) On the General tab under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete Files
4) Click Ok when it asks if you want to delete the files
5) Under the History section on the General tab, click Clear History, then click Ok
6) Close Internet Explorer
7) Log off the current user and Log onto another user account such as Administrator
8) Click on Start, Run
9) Type CMD and Press Enter to open a command prompt
10) Change directories to the Temporary Internet Files directory by typing the following command,
(substituting the correct drive letter and the word username with the correct userName).

cd drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Example: cd c:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

11) type del index.dat and press Enter
12) Type Exit and press Enter to close the command prompt
13) Restart your computer

Once the computer has been restarted, open a web page with a link to a download.
Click on the link and download the file. It should now work.

.swf files don't run

Hello,

.swf files are Flash files and are played by the Adobe Flash Player. If you currently have the Adobe Flash Player installed, try going to Start --> Control Panel and clicking on Add/Remove Programs. When the screen loads click on Adobe Flash Player and click Uninstall. Finally restart your computer.

When the computer reboots, use the below link to install Adobe Flash Player.
