Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Simpson Riviera 429 washing machine.

Intermittent starting (suspect lid switch - how do I check?)
and occasional flood/ overflow when water does does not turn off (Pressure switch/sensor?)
Repairman replaced timer (they always go on this model), but, predictably this "repair" did not fix the problem.

If the water doesnt shut off when you unplug the machine, then the valve is faulty.do you hear a click when you open/close the lid.undo the two screws at the front of the hob under lid and you can lift it high enough to check and ajust it back right side.but they do get rusty.hope this helps.

Overflow problems

Found pressure switch was not connected properly. when the cover was taken off to fix lid switch, the tube inside the body of machine came off, so just simply needed to be re- connected and now everything is working okay.

Water Overflow

hi there,

i would recommend checking the water level switch or lid switch and also the cable leading to it. that is what sends a signal to the machine control to stop filling with water.
