Usually the voice coil is bad on these subs...if your surround is rotted or torn - EXTENDING YOUR FINGERS PUSH DOWN GENTLY ON THE MIDDLE OF THE SUB AND RELEASE...Is it free? If not, forget the rebuild...If you need a kit for rebuilding the Earthquake...try Googling "Lesco Distibuting" in Orange City, FL and ask them who their closest Earthquake dealer is. Good Luck
Bridging your amplifier @ 4 ohm will yield the most power.... with the subwoofers you have.
You must wire them in Parallel.
Positive on both subwoofers to + on amplifier.
Negative on both subwoofers to - on amplifier.
The lowest impedence possible with 8 ohm woofers is 4 ohms.

only on fixya would we get a complaint that speakers that are supposed to make sound work great but some lights on them dont work....
ugh.. ok with most of the spealers that have l.e.d.s typically have a seperate connection for the lights. The red wire goes to a switched 12 volt power source, the black goes to chassis ground... if they have power and ground but dont light up then they are junk...
