Playstation 3 cut out and wont boot back up i turned it on and the light went green than yellow and then flashing red

when i turn ps3 on it flashes a yellow light then the green light comes on it dunt come up on screen and it wont turn off or eject disks

Needs to be serviced. All of the old PS3s seem to have a malfunction.

hello i had the same problem i was playing cod when my ps3 cut off i tried to turn it back on and got a red light then a yellow with 3 beeps then it went back to red. i bought a repair kit from this website www.ps3ylodrepair.co.uk it cost me 8.99 i paid by paypal and recived it 4 days later also when you have made payment they send you a password so you can log into there site and view the full repair guide they also send you the full guide on disk if you request it when you pay for it. i followed there guide fitted the kit and my ps3 has been going strong now for 2 months. well worth a try hope this helps

This is known as the yellow light of death.(ylod) It's about 150 bucks to have it serviced unless it's still under warranty.It says in the manual it is an overheating issue.

Yes, this is sometimes called the YLOD because of the way it flashed yellow before it goes to the red light.

Well you can fix it yourself using a good guide or you can send it in to be fixed.
