Wherever you can access the condenser side closest to the fan is the best place because you want to blow compressed air through the coils from the side where the fan is located as that is the side where the air is sucked in through the coil assembly. you want to blow the dirt out in the opposite direction of the normal air flow through the coil fins.

Bottom section not cooling but rail is cooling fine.

Hello Roytorboli,

I understand that your make table is not cooling the bottom. However the rail is cooling just fine.

The rail is cooling because it sets above the evaporator coil. The evaporator coil fan is not working you should be able to here it running when one of the bottom doors are open. The fan is located in the bottom compartment and has to be accessed threw there. You will take the front panel of the back plate off. One you locate the fan remove the wires and label and go to your local hardware store to purchase. Be sure to take the old one so that they can match it up.

My refergerator / freezer is not working. The fan is blowing but there is no cold air coming out

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Freezer is not cooling. Pulled out fridge and cleand the vents for the cooling fan in the back. Also cleaned the front vents and coils. Tilted the fridge a little bit to get at the coils on the bottom....

If it is not cooling at all it is because the compressor is not running and that needs to be confirmed. Once established that the compressor is not running, then you need to look at the start relay and the capacitor if there is one (Capacitor). That may be the problem; bad start relay/overload or bad capacitor. Check thoroughly. If your compressor is running and there is no cooling, the refrigerant might have escaped ; I mean a refrigerant leak. In that case, you need to call a serviceman.

Frost on back of freezer, not cooling right in both boxes

You probably have a defrost heater, timer, or temperature switch failure. The heater is the most common problem. What happens is frost has clogged the cooling coils and very little cold air is being circulated through it to do the cooling. Clean out the freezer and remove the back panel to thaw out with a hair drier or wet vac blower etc. Now find the cause. http://www.appliance411.com/faq/howdefrostworks.shtml

Maytag Model RSW24EOD. Not cooling. Frost on freezer back wall

Low on freon or there may be accumulation of dust and dirt on the coils of the condensor. To check to see if the coils are dirty you need to remove the bottom panel of the fridge just below the frige door. Once you pop off this panel take a flashlight and look under the unit. You will see what looks like a radiator with a fan and fan motor in front of it. If these coils are blocked the unit will not cool since this is where the heat goes from the fridge to be dispersed. Clean the coils with a coil brush (purchased at any hardware store) and use a wet/dry vacuum to remove the debris. Once these coils are cleaned it will take about 12 hours for the unit to operate properly.
If the coils are clean already then you possibly have a compressor that is low on freon. I would check the coils first since most of the time this is the cause of the problem.

Good luck on your repair hope this helped you some

Side by sise refrid freezer top is not cooloing on freezer side warm on refergerator side

suspect fan is not working - can you hear fan?
if not, chances are fan is jammed with ice build up. take back panel off inside freezer and if there is ice build up, melt off with a hairdryer. also check for continuity thro fan and make sure it rotates freely
