I don't see why i have to pay 9.99 for your service just to return defective merchandise. i guess i will stop using magnavox and let everyone know you are not helpful with your product.

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard

if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer

I am attempting to burn a disc off of idvd and after inserting the ativa disc it ejects it and says to insert a recordable disc. Any ideas why? The disc are new just opened.

Try another blank disk. When you put it in, do not click on any prompts or anything like that. It is possible something got burned on the bottom of the disk. It is also possible, you need to use a CDROM and not a DVDRROM. Also, if you look at the bottom of the disk, you will see a section of a different color starting from the middle and moving out if there is any information on the disk.

Thanks for using FixYa!

I bought blank DVD-R at office max. 16x4.7.Some are blank but a majority were not. Bought another same thing. Do i need to format discs or are they defective?

all dvd should be blank if you are buying some with data on them that is not correct and should be brought to the attention of the store staff.

i hope this was helpful.

When i try to burn a video file it stops at 1% so why wont it burn?

Video media is graded by quality when manufactured and you have purchased dvd media from a mfgr that focuses on price versus quality. 10-15% defective dvd media is not uncommon. Sorry but it looks like you got a defective media.

I bought a pack of 50 dvd+r at walmart. I have burnt with these dvds numerous times and never had a problem. This pack seems to be defective because they all come out with problems and ofcourse walmart...

Do you mean that after burning, these disks won't verify? Try using "Imageburn" if you are not already. At least if they burn ok using IB it will serve to condem the disks. Unusal for all disks in a pack to be faulty though.

Half of my maxell dvd wont rewrite

use no more of them and return it to the store. make sure to take the receipt, and tell them what is going on. if the store wont replace them contact maxell via their website and file a complaint. most likely they will resolve the problem by replacing the product via coupon or a check for the amount of the cost

"Wrong Disk" error

I would assume that you finalized the disk after you burned them. THat being the case try the disk on another DVD player. If that does not work try burning another disk. Its possible that its either a failed burn, a picky DVD player or plain defective disc. So the only option left is to isolate the probelm.

DVD-R wont play :(

Break out the manual for the camera, there is probably a "finish" or finalize procedure that needs to be run before the disk can be read by anything else. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don't forget to rate this post.
