Whenever I switch to live view, the screen goes black unless I am moving the cursor.

I had this same problem. All the information I read said to run 32bit color. I switched mine to 16 bit and the 3D view worked great.

Unfortunately looking at some of the user reviews I found that people have complained a lot about the usability if the program and the poor user manual. Hopefully you will be able to make an informed decision about the program by trying it out in demo version. Happy computing.

3D live view is black.

A fix for my setup (Windows Vista, Dell Latitude D530, Mobile Intel Chipset 965 Express) was to reduce the screen's colour depth from 32 bit to 16 bit. Do this via Control Panel->Adjust screen resolution.

How much memory does your video card support?

Chances are it isn't enough for 3D animation. You might want to go with a 256mb video memory card.

1 - Crown moldings in Punch don't slope
2 - Ceiling beams --> check your Power Tools--> If your version has the Celing designer, you can use this tool to create the beams--> or use solution # 3
3 - Ceiling beams --> you can cevelop them in the 3D Workshop Power Tool --> set the pitch--> texture as necessary
