hi sorry broad band has been offline in my area just got back online right what you can do is put the old ones back in then see if it accepts them or not if it does then make sure the new ones have no film over where they connect in the printer and then when you put the new ones in are you pushing them down hard enough to here them click in place

Also try calibrating the print head with the old cartridges in see if this makes any diference

  • paul proctor Mar 12, 2008

Hi have you tried calibrating the printer youll need paper in the printer tray to do this procedure let me know how you get on as im online all day today ok
    To calibrate from control panel
1 Load the main tray or photo tray with photo paper.
IMPORTANT: If you don't have any photo paper, you can use plain paper, but photo paper is highly recommended for calibrations.
    2 Press Menu.
3 Press 􀁢 until Calibrate Printer is selected.
4 Press OK. A new screen appears with Print Calibration Page selected.
5 Press Start and follow the instructions on the LCD screen to complete the calibration.

Ink light on changed ink still wont print

it sounds like the printer has not accepted the changed cartridge.

Try turning the printer off at the mains for 30 seconds then back on again, it sometimes works, or if that fails take out the cartridge's turn off printer for 30 mins then back on re insert inks and see if that works.

If it fails then there could well be a chip set failure on the cartridge you have replaced or maybe another cartridge within the set.

It's well worth saving the cartridge too as compatibles sometimes fail to be read by your printer but rarely the actual cartridges fail, you can put that same cartridge back in later for it to be accepted by the printer.

If you set to black and wite it should also print pictures by the way, it does not accept grayscale because it won't be able to print in grayscale photo quality.

Ive refilled ink cartridge and put it back in printer but the printer is still indicating empty cartridge and wont print. How do I reset the firmware on printer so it accepts cartridge as new?

Often times it is the chip in the cartidge that needs resetting - depending on the brand, there are various tools needed to reset - sometimes needing a new chip. Printer manufactures have gotten stingy with ink and want people to buy genuine new cartidges. The best advice I can give you is try to get to an ink refill shop and see if they can reset the chip in the cartridge.

I have a ip3000. It suddenly stopped printing. The paper comes through but it is blank. I tried replacing the black cartridge (even though it was 3/4 full)and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the...

how old is the cartridge thats in it? If you have had it a while, they do go bad. Also, make sure that you have pulled the tab off of the cartridge. The nozzles are probably really clogged.

You can try this, it usually works, but is some times not worth the trouble.

Use rubbing alcohol and clean the nozzle on the cartridge untill it works again. Wet a paper towel with alcohol and rub the nozzle on the cartridge and you will see it Ink coming off onto the towel.

You may have to repeat several times and then do a nozzle purg(clean) mode on the printer.

It should make it work again, but it may not be the best quality.

As well, some times they do read incorrect ink levels.

If all else fails, you will have to buy a new black ink.

My printer wont accept my coloured ink cartridge

Is it the new original cartrigde colour or not ? If yes, you should ask a guarantee from the seller.
There is a chip inside the cartridge, sometimes it doesn't compatible for the printer software to read the chip.
The printer will keep asking for the new one if there is no ink in the cartridge.

New ink cartridge for Kodak Easy Share 5300 will not work

The version of firmware you originally had on the printer when you changed the ink cartridge was bad. There is a known issue that when you put in a new ink cartridge when the printer is in the error state "COLOR INK EMPTY. REPLACE COLOR INK CARTRIDGE" the unit writes that value to the new ink cartridge so you will continue to have that error.

So to fix your problem Open the access door and Remove the ink cartridges. Then download and install the new Firmware. Heres the link.

Kodak AiO 5300 Firmware

Then sadly you have to go get another new ink tank and install it.

If you can get through to kodak you should request reimbursement of some sort like a free set of ink tanks.

I hope this helps
