Question about Bosch 23 in. SHU33A Built-In Dishwasher

1 Answer

Broken dishwasher It started when my dishwasher flooded my kitchen. I drained it and turned it on, it was fine. then it happened again. I have drained it then when I went to turn it on again it just sounds like it is running with no water. If I put water into the bottom it will drain but it will not fill up. I bought this house 3 years ago I am unsure how old the dishwasher, do I need to get a new one?

Dishdrawers display F1 fault, what do I do?

The flood switch at the base of the dishwasher (under the bottom drawer) has triggered. This means water has collected at the base of the dishwasher housing. This can happen for many reasons, leaking drawer lid seal, broken drain hose, broken water inlet hose, etc.

You will need to find the source of the leak. Also incorrect detergent can cause foaming which triggers the flood switch.
Turn the mains power to dishwasher off and take the cable out of the socket. You will have to find a way to take the bottom drawer out. Usually it needs a plyer to pull out the plastic fasteners one on each side. Slowly take the front cover out and lift the drawer off the rail and bring it out.Make sure the controller or display panel do not fall out. Use masking tape to hold these in place. Leave it on the floor without tugging too much on the cable and hoses. Dry the base with towels and hair dryer. The flood switch is mounted on a circuit board located in the base.

Put everything back and conne power and try again.
Hoses need to be replaced if these are source. Also lid seal can be replaced if this is the cause.
Use recommended detergent. (no power balls) or tablets.
good luck.

Flooding in both drawers of dishwasher

I suppose "flooding in both drawers of ..." implies water is not draining out. Is that right?

It is a very little information to give you any clear solutions.

Did the water get into the drawers without starting any wash program? Most likely it is the backflow from kitchen sink back through the dishwasher drain hose. Does your kitchen sink plumbing have an air gap sowehere. If so, is it clear?

If the water is the back flow then it is likely to be smelly and you do not want to run it through the dishwasher. I would suggest take the drain hose out from under the sink downpipe and drop into an empty bucket. Then take all the fixtures out from the drawers and empty out water using a small container.

Put the washer arms back and run each drawer on a short rinse cycle collecting the drain water in the bucket. If cycle runs clear, then get plumber to check the kitchen downpipe.

Reconnect drain hose.

Hope this helps.

Dishwasher pump keeps running

This is caused by a water leak into the base pan,it will trigger the anti flood and the machine will continously drain out even with the door open, you need to establish what is leaking,if you leave the appliance standing for a few days it will start again as the water will evaporate however if the fault returns you will definetly have aleak on the appliance which will require further investigation.

Dishwasher is not draining and is flooding out the side

It sounds like the float valve is clogged and or you have a timer problem (which is way down on the list of probabilities...very rare...last thing to happen generally ...but not impossible.)....on the floor of the DW is a round Mushroom looking float valve that rises with the water and shuts the water off at a specific time...usually when full....it often gets gunk in it...(soap...debris...etc) and it sticks in the down...too much water...or in the up...no water....position...take it off...just lift up...and listen for a clicking noise...check to see if it is clean...if not clean it and replace it...push it up and down listening for the clicking noise...if you don't hear one...then it may not be making contact with the contactor...check to see that it does...and it it is and no contact noise with movement replace the contact.

Also some DW's have a sump (drain ) area where water collects to drain...sometimes debris collects in this area....and inhibits drainage...check to see that no debris (careful could be broken glass) is inhibiting drainage.

Hope this helps....and good luck...let me know if it does not... thanks for rating my effort...The Fang.

Contunuous draining turned into a flood when unit powered off

The fill valve is governed by the float switch. I doubt that your fill valve (solenoid) has failed.

Focus on replacing the float switch and you should be all set.

Good Luck!

Bosch dishwasher is stuck on drain cycle

cause is water in the bottom tray which operates an anti-flood switch and all machine will do is drain.
disconnect from mains
remove bottom panel and mop out water and it will work. if fault re-occurs, then you have a leak which you will have to identify

Kenmore Ultra Wash III Dishwasher will not drain properly

From the sound of things, your dishwasher drains faster than your sink drain ( via the garbage disposal) can drain it off.. You may have a problem with the way your sink drain/trap is vented and there is too much back pressure to drain down quickly.. When you run water from your sink, does it take a long time to drain down or if you fill your sink up and drain it, does it drain slowly ? That may be your problem.. Hope that helps.

Water flooding out

Hi KellyW,

The dishwasher drain hose may be clogged.  When the dishwashr starts up can you hear the water running into the Sink faucet drain. If not inspect the hose that attaches to the Sink Drain for restrictions.  Also in the bottom of the dishwasher you should have a filter.  If this filter is clogged you cannot expel water.  Clean the filter.
