According to the D-link website, the DWL-122 (with wireless B) was discontinued in 2007. The only operating systems it is supported on are XP and earlier.

http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=175

Click on "Specifications" when you go to the link and you'll see.

The good news is they're relatively cheap to get these days. I'm sure you can find one that works with Win7 at Best Buy or a computer store near you.

Sorry! Hope this was helpful at least!

I have acer aspire t650 and h can't install audio driver under windows 7

here is the link to the Acer support site for your PC I didnt see any updates to upgrade to windows7

http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=393

If you cant get updated drivers from Acer you could get the generic Windows7 drivers direct from Realtek for your AC97 Codec software (Beware some functions may not be suported by your system mother board)

I need the driver for it for xp please

I found the following information on this web page (thank you lincomatic for the write-up!) and updated the information.

"...the DWL-121 - which is not listed on D-Link's website. OmniMedia's support claims that it's a special model that only works w/ OmniFi products ... (yeah, sure, I believe that...) Is it possible to use it as a WiFi adapter for a Windows XP computer? The answer is yes... with the right driver and a tiny bit of tweaking...
D-Link doesn't provide drivers for the DWL-121, and doesn't even have any information about it on their website. When you plug it into a Windows computer, it comes up as an unknown device, manufactured by Inventec. The USB Vendor ID is 09AA, and the Product ID is 3642. Since Intersil's Prism chipset is one of the most popular, I took a guess that the DWL-121 must be Prism-based.
I went hunting for drivers on D-Link's site, and found that the driver for the DWL-122 - another USB WiFi adapter - is called PRISMUSB.sys. Good candidate. After modifying the INF to look for the correct VID/PID, I got the DWL-122 driver to install and it worked! I'm actually posting this article through the DWL-121 right now! Below is the installation procedure:
  1. Download the DWL-122 driver from this page to your desktop.
  2. unzip and open the folder.
  3. Look for the file "NETPRISM.INF" and open it with Notepad.
  4. Press CTRL-H and replace all instances of the string "VID_2001&PID_3700" with "VID_09AA&PID_3642" (copy&paste!)
  5. If you're really anal, you can also replace "DWL-122" with "DWL-121," but this is entirely optional, since it only affects the name of the device as XP displays it.
  6. Save the changed INF file and close Notepad.
  7. Plug in the DWL-121 and when the Hardware Update Wizard comes up, select Install from a list or specific location.
  8. On the next screen, select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
  9. On the next screen, click the Have Disk button, and browser to the path of the modified INF file, e.g. "C:\Documents and Settings\[yourname]\Desktop\dwl122_driver_102\Drivers" and click Next
  10. Follow the default prompts for the rest of the installation, and you're done!
If you have any more questions or something is not clear to you, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Where to download drivers to update the BIOS for my IBM desk-top

Ha! Old OS, old URL; possibly just an old desktop not up to the task of running WinXP.
It's a new BIOS you'd flash your system with, and probably a push between your motherboard's BIOS having an update (you'd go to the mobo's maker's site, e.g. that of ASUS, Gigabyte, Intel, etc.; read the screen-print on the board; to get the update) and telling WinXP to install anyhow using a handy force-install option.

Dwl 121 driver

D-Link for some reason does not provide a driver for the DWL 121. Options are buying another model or you can try this:

1) Download the DWL-122 driver from this page.
2) unzip it into a folder, say c:/tmp
3) open up c:/tmp/Drivers/WinXP/NETPRISM.INF in a text editor, such as Notepad.
4) Do a global replace of the string "VID_2001&PID_3700" with "VID_09AA&PID_3642"
5) If you're really anal, you can also replace "DWL-122" with "DWL-121," but this is entirely optional, since it only affects the name of the device as XP displays it.
6) plug in the DWL-121 and when the Hardware Update Wizard comes up, select Install from a list or specific location.
7) on the next screen, select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
8) on the next screen, click the Have Disk button, and enter the path to the modified INF file, e.g. c:/tmp/Drivers/WinXP and click Next

DWL-122 driver not installing, device not recognized

The wireless adapter will not show on the My Computer. Try to right click the My Computer icon go to properties, then go to Hardware tab then click the device manager button, click the + sign beside the Network Adapters category and check if you have the adapter listed there. If the adapter is listed check if the driver is installed properly by going to the properties of the card.

Failure to install D-link Air DWL-122 on Windows XP

I think the D-Link Adapter is a piece of ****. I have tried 3com and netgear and they all work well. Try setting Static Address instead of dynamic. Saying that - I didn't power down either as the instruction manual is totally useless.

Black screen

Some USB devices seem to cause this problem. I've had it myself. USB devices when hooked up cause the computer to freeze as it hard for USB drivers to be loaded outside of windows. Try updating you windows thru windows update though even updated I still run into the problem sometimes. If updating dosen't work you need to keep the drive unhooked while booting then hook up in windows.
