You can check if your monitor can be fixed or not. After you turned it on, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. This is because of the lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so. Hope this help!! If anything I can help you with, feel free to let me know.
Thank you,

It will not work i switch it on and nothing happens

Remove cable connecting monitor to computer, turn it on. If you see a "NO SIGNAL" note, your monitor is ok and the problem is the graphic card of your computer. If you've recently removed and reconnected the monitor, might be a bent pin of cable input.
If Monitor is dead when you turn it on disconnected, it's defective and you should repair it

My monitor will not boot up when my comp is turned on

Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...

Can't switch on comp..amber light flashing?

That usually means no video signal is coming out of the computer.

Try another known working monitor on the computer and then turn on the computer and see if you still get no video on the screen.

If that doesn't work then with the computer turned off, reseat each stick of memory one stick at a time in each slot one at a time. After each reseat, try turning on the computer and see if you get video on the monitor. If you have another stick of known good working memory you may want to try it in your computer.

If that doesn't work then turn off the monitor and go ahead and reseat the processor as well then turn on the computer and see if you get video.

If that doesn't work then go ahead and make sure only the power connectors are hooked up to the motherboard and then turn on the comoputer. If you still don't get video then you know sure at this point that the motherboard is bad in your computer.

Please try to check your VGA card & cable connections, or try to connect the monitor to other PC, & if it works, then VGA card of former PC should be replaced. regards

Monitor keeps blank even the power lLED is on green

I suspect the problem is with the monitor itself. I have had the same problem. I reported it to Dell and they sent me a new monitor within a few days the problem resurfaced again on the new monitor. They have since sent me a new monitor and the problem has disappeared. The Dell customer service people sounded rather cagy to me when I suggested that this was a problem endemic to this model. The replacement monitor that I have had a sticker on the box that read "refurbished". This is a rather new model of monitor to already be into selling "refurbished" models. If you are still under warranty I suggest you call them. And even if you aren't, call them anyway. I sense that they know about this problem.
