Question about Samsung CLP-600N Laser Printer

Printer won't stop jamming

Printer is folding and ripping paper leaving about 20% of the page (one corner) in the feed area and folding the remainder. Everything is cleared, but it won't stop jamming.

It jams with fresh paper, paper from the left had feeder, one sheet, multiple sheets in the tray or feeder.

We've only printed about 5-7000 sheets so far.
Have not tried powercycling the printer yet.

My wife didn't tell me where the torn paper was hiding. Once I learned that I had to figure out what to remove to get to it.

    See the picture below.

This is a "feature" according to Samsung, typically happens when you dont have the same size of paper in the tray that your sowftware tells it to print on i.e. your print page screen says print on letter but you have 11x14 in the tray. I spent an hour on the phone with them about this - their answer was to check the paper is correct before printing. Personally it's a design flaw that stops the print job in it's tracks when it doesn't detect the end of the page where it would expect it rather than continuing the page through the printer. The fallout from this is you have to open the side and remove the paper which is nosmall feat given the tension on the rollers, I fear one time I pull too hard I'm going to damage another component as it releases :-( KW

Sounds like your printer wants to form it's own three piece band(kidding here).

sounds like you rollers are dirty or have something on one or both of them..like tires on a slippery road, these need to be clean and dry.

Why does my Konica Minolta 1690MF have a fuser jam error whenever I print in color?

Everything you checked sound good. Might be printer software problem, and needs to be re-flashed. Software only available from secure web site that a technician would have, see what it cost if to much buy a new one with extra bells and whistles !

Tip

Steps to clear paper jam.

Please perform the below steps.

1. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

PRINTER IS JAMMED SHOWING ERROR

I had a similar problem, my printer was chewing the paper and then I was getting a jammed paper message. I looked inside but couldn't see much anything. I then removed (unscrewed) all the panels, and next I know, a culprit materialized, in other words, something fell inside the printer. I then managed to put it all back together, ended up with a few extra screws, but heck it works like a clockwork. God bless screwdrivers with magnetic tips, they made my life so easier.

Left corner is folded down on page

Sounds like an issue with the feed rollers. The roller on the left side might be hung up and is causing the corner to fold over when the paper is pulled through. I would try checking the feed rollers in either the actual tray or the back of the printer. Another thing to check is the other tray (the manual one). Does the paper fold? this should help you narrow down where the problem lies.

Paper jammed

Hi Good day!!!
Here are some steps to remove paper jam

1. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands on the metal tools inside the chassis.

2. Pin down the exact location of the jam. The three hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, between the feed tray and the print carriage or between the print carriage and the output tray.

3. Take off the front paper tray. If the sheet jammed around here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4. Pull on the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Don't tug too quickly. You might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeper in the machine.

5. Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer. Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine.

6. Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside. You may need to move the print carriage out of your way to get at the jam.

7. Return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

Printer error shows paper jam at paper tray and printer stops after printing 3 or 4 pages. I open and close the top access and printing resumes for 3 or 4 more pages...stops and shows paper jam at feed...

Try two things:

Fan the paper before placing in the tray.

Raise the humidity in the room to at least 40% to avoid electrostatic sticking of the paper. Store paper in 40% humidity area.
