Black Ink Cartridge

Even after changing the black ink cartrige and running the cleaning cycle 5 or more times, the print test page prints only one dot of black while the three colors print all dots. The black print head seems to be clogged. How do I unclog it?

I don't the meaning of the word "clogged" but the better way to clean a printhead is to put hot water on a soft clothe and gently put the cartridge on and off a couple of time. You will see if the cartridge let ink leaking. Important do not scrap with your clothe under the cartridge.

The problem with this printer is that the Printhead is buried deep in the printer and is very difficult to get to. One trick that someone tried is to purchase print head cleaning solution from a website such as www.fillserv.com and fill an empty cartridge with the solution. Then constantly do head cleaning until the cartridge is empty and then try printing. You need to be good at refilling brother LC41-BK cartridge which is very difficult in the first place. I don't recommend it because it may cause more damage. When my Brother printer head got clogged I just threw it away. Its just not worth it in my opinion but at least you have an option.

To learn how to refill a brother cartridge go to this website.

Hope this Helps!

How do i need to purge the ink lines on an epson 3880

Purging Procedure - If you have just installed a new archival or Quadtone cartridge you must purge the Epson print head of all of the old, non-archival, ink before you can begin to print with the full archival effect. The print heads in the Epson 200/400/440/500/600/640/740/800/850/860/900/1160/1520/Photo/Photo 700/Photo EX/Photo 750/Photo 1200 printers hold about 3 to 5 pages worth of ink. Always run a Nozzle check before printing. Even if you get a perfect nozzle check on your first try after putting in a new cartridge, run at least one or two head cleaning cycles. This will prevent any excess ink from over filling the print head. After the cleaning cycles, use the purging test patterns below to purge your system of the old ink. After printing about 5 (8.5x11) pages of this pattern, 98% of the old ink will be gone. The rest will come out slowly and may take as many as 20 or more pages, but at the 98% point you will see good results. If you have an Epson 3000, 5000 or 9000. See below

Heavy black stripe on back side of every printed page

This is probably due to miss alignment, there is an option of test page which will be scanned to allign the cartridge, if ur's a all in one printer. This test page is printed at the first time and scanned instantly for first time operation.

Thankyou

When I print the Black ink does not print on page at all. All of the colors cyan, magenta and yellow are fine. I haver replaced the Black Cartrige and Run the printers cleaning cycle several times.

maybe you run out of ink for black, try to use other ink, if its still the same then their a stockup ink on your head of the printer and better to replace it. I think once you purchase an ink cartridge of cannon their is also printer head included. Hope it helps thanks.

Refilled black ink cartrige and i can't get it to print at all. done more deep cleans than i want to remember, still will not print. done nozzle clean also. i have refilled this cartrige several times...

You may need a newer cartridge
See if the printhead has any abnomal markings.
You can compare it with the color printhead.
If the printhead is good, see if the ink is flowing through the printhead.
Fill the ink cartridge to maximum
Squeeze the sides of the ink cartridge, ink should flow out.
If ink is flowing out, remove any excessive ink with a paper towel.
Install ink cartridges, do NOT do any cleaning cycle.
Since your black cartridge is full, cleaning may cause it not to print.
Do some black copy operations.

Printer replaced with black cartridge, and doesnt print

Either the print head for black is faulty, or the wiring to the black print head on carriage are broken. Try also cleaning the metal sensor to the black cartridge inside the ink carriage.

MFC 210c problem with Magenta ink

I had a similar problem with my black ink. The printer had indicated that it was out of black ink. I didn't have one on hand, so, for more than a week I couldn't print anything, because if you are out of any one of the four ink cartridges, it won't print at all. That delay in replacing the black ink cartridge apparently was enough time for the printhead to dry out. Big Mistake! I contacted Brother's Tech Support and they suggested I run the cleaning cycle and try to print a test page. Still nothing printed. They had me run another cleaning cycle, and another, and another. Finally, after the fourth cleaning cycle, something started to show up on the paper. They had me clean it two more times, six in all, and it was back to normal. From now on, if it says one of the ink cartridges is empty, I change it yesterday. The major disadvantage of all of this, other than not being able to print for awhile, is that this procedure used up about 1/2 of a brand new black ink cartridge.
