I have this same problem with my motorola w230.. Mine will be two years old in another 10 days.. I have this problem since today.. Googled for some help and found this page.. Will be taking it to a service center tomorrow..

Try this things first so that you can check
if it is really the screen that's causing the problem,
While the computer is off, press D+POWER button
and hold it for 5 secs, different colors should come up,
Make sure the computer turns on. You will know that if the power button lights up.
Try to lug in an external monitor and see if display will come up,
If the display comes up, and the d+power did not display anything, might want to call technical support so you can get the screen replaced,

Review a new antivirus for 2010, though a current Norton subscription should be pretty good. Of course, you have to disinfect the whole thing first, so you probably want to reinstall on a new HD (and you may as well get a current OS while you're at it, Fedora 12, Mint Linux, Windows 7 Creamy Topping, MacOS X or such.) Then mount the old drive and run virus scans on it from the new OS (or simply move your data over with a good antivirus running, then format the old HD.)
consult manual for troubleshooting it could be that lamp in tv takes long time to cool down or that it is bad they usually last about 2-3 years depends on how you use your tv
