Water leaking from tub above motor. Is there a schematic online to show how to replace seal?

Posted on Dec 20, 2008

There is a water fill valve assembly in the lower left front of the dishwasher. It is an electric solenoid valve that electrical opens and closes and lets water into the dishwasher. If you have an electric multimeter you can check the continuity on the solenoid. MAKE SURE YOU SHUT THE POWER OFF TO THE DISHWAHER before you do this test.

the valve is held on by a 1/4" screw.you must remove the inlet and out let hose and remove the two electic connectors and replace.

Also check the float assembly in the dishwasher to make sure it is not stuck

Dishwasher took 3 hours to complete cycle

If you have set the unit to heated water or your hot water is not hot will delay the wash cycle. The heater in the dishwasher is very slow!
The following is from the user manual.
15
TROUBLESHOOTING
First try the solutions suggested here and possibly avoid
the cost of a service call...
Dishwasher is not operating properly
Dishwasher does not run or stops during a cycle
Is the door closed tightly and latched?
Is the right cycle selected? Refer to the "Cycle Selection
Charts."
Is there power to the dishwasher? Has a household fuse
blown or circuit breaker tripped?
Has the motor stopped due to an overload? The motor
automatically resets itself within a few minutes. If it does not
restart, call for service.
Is the water shut-off valve (if installed) turned on?
Dishwasher will not fill
Is the overfill protection float able to move up and down
freely? Press down to release.
Dishwasher seems to run too long
Is the water supplied to the dishwasher hot enough? The
dishwasher runs longer while heating water. Refer to the
"Dishwasher Efficiency Tips" section.
A delay automatically occurs in some wash and rinse cycles
until the water reaches the proper temperatur

Hope this helps?

How do I stop white spots being left on my dishes after running the clean cycle?

One thing is a rinse aid, the other is switch to a liquid soap for dishwashers. If I might ask, what filter system did you get?

Broken Timer? My OLD Kitchen Aid Quiet Scrub Dishwasher no longer advances through cycles automatically--I have to turn the knob manually for every step. It works fine other than that.

Hi Spring

All depends where you are and wether you can get Parts.
Is the timer accessible?
Timer is driven by a small clock motor.
Could it be fixed or lubricated.
Give it a service and save money!
Good luck

Can't get the bottom open

The build up is from hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

No water coming into dishwaser.

  1. Valve shut off to dishwasher
  2. Float stuck (bottom right front corner inside - check for obstructions)
  3. Kinked water supply line

KUDS01FKSS dishwasher not cleaning

One thing to check is soap usage. Newer dishwashers use less water and require less soap. Too much soap will redeposit on dishes. Try halving soap usage. Also run hot water in sink until it gets hot before running dishwasher. I have a Whirlpool. Same thing. Works great. If your water is hard add more detergent.

Clean Light Flashes

I found this post elsewhere. It seems to have worked for me: Our KitchenAid KUDP series dishwasher went into a mode where it would not start and would only respond to the cancel/drain button. The clean light would flash 7 times in a row, stop, and then repeat. I read that the 7 flashes indicates an error code and that the dishwasher has detected a problem in the heater element circuit. I tried to reset the error mode by turning off power for 15 minutes, however, that did not work.
We called for a repair. The service person found that the dishwasher was completely fine except that it had gone into an error mode. The technician reset the error mode and charge us $115.00.

The reset sequence used was reported to be the following:
1) Crack the door open.
2) Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry
3) Close and latch the door
4) Press the cancel button (the circle with the triangle in it)

We were told the dishwasher expects to see the dish water temperature rise in a certain way. If the water does not heat in this way, the dishwasher becomes confused and thinks the heater element has failed. In deed, this happened just following and extended power failure and our hot water tank was cool. I am curious if this code will work for anybody else with the same problem and save a service call and 115 bucks. Overall, this seems to be a serious logic flaw in the design.
